Personal background
26 year old as a switchman (Rail Industry). I have always found space exploration ie SETI and NASA fascinating. I'm glad to be able to participate in any way shape or form. Distributed computing is an ingenious method and I volunteer as much as possible with 6 devices and counting.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
To be able to contribute to organizations in search of what generally every human being wants to know and understand is simply fantastic.
I believe understanding our environment(from home to our Universe) is key to surviving. Not only does it lead to improvements and advances in tech, its fascinating and empowering.
The only suggestions I could possibly make is that I wish this program had more publicity. I believe if more people were aware of how much of an impact they could make with so little effort that many more would participate. Perhaps if more people were aware, making the program more user friendly and non intrusive would aid in more participants that lack pc know how.
