I am an American Ex-Pat living with my wife and daughter in the Philippines. I am a Safety Engineer with a doctorate in Business Administation. I was born in 1960 so I am a product of the 70's. The 70's are the swing point of exploration and computing so I am interested in this project purely from a future historical viewpoint.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Why do I run SETI@Home? I am running this program in the name of science. I believe that the people that are working in and around SETI believe in the science that intelligent life can be found and even abound throughout our universe and also throughout the many galaxies.
2. What are my views concerning this project? Do I believe in SETI and what it stands for? My views are varied. I do believe in some form of physical life outside our solar system. To what degree that life form is intelligent or not I cannot be sure. I am more of a religous person than a scientific person. However in my religous views there is an abundant amount of room for science. So I am participating in this project so my computer can help cypher information.
