Personal background
I'm from Louisville, KY. Since 1993 I have been working with the Ford Motor Company. Before that I was a professional musician and songwriter. I was first turned on to SETI through movies (Close Encounters of the Third Kind,E.T., Starman, Contact) and Carl Sagen (Contact). UFO's have intrigued me since childhood. I saw what I thought was a UFO at age 10, but could never prove it. I always look at the night sky with amazement. I truely believe that we are not alone. It's only a matter of time. And with us all helping SETI, we will be saying hello to ET much sooner than later.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, I do think extaterrestrail life exist and I believe that they have already been here. I think humans have already discovered many signs. To quote Fox Mulder, "The truth is out there". I think ET has been here throughout the history of mankind. I am intrigued at the thought that we could be aliens on our own planet! Could we be hybrids?

The possible benefits? Closure of that age old question, "Are we alone". Once we discover and learn how to communicate, the sharing of technologies and medicine alone would change our lives almost instantly. There could also be a "reverse" effect, meaning diseases and hostile confrontations.

I believe we should always be transmitting "beacons", at least for our own safety. (Just in case there is hostile intelligence out there). We should send information of where we are in the universe, that we are of a non-hostile origin, and that we want to communicate.

I run SETI@home because I am a believer of "Contact". I want to know if there is someone out there besides us. I want closure. And I want to visit someday...maybe not in this life or this dimension, but I just want to say, "Hello...welcome...please come in and tell me about your travels!"
