Signed up, but their tutorial seems to be having issues loading some graphics, will try their site back a little later today. Perhaps it is just getting too many hits right now.

Thanks for the link and information!

Thanks for the reply. Looks like I got some connectivity back, it is crunching away.

So for curiosities sake, why is this instance all of a sudden doing astropulse work now, when it did not before? I am assuming there is a correlation with my download that lunatic application and installing onto this computer.

I had noticed a post in another part of the forums where it was talking about the lunatics downloads, etc... So I downloaded it and installed on this computer.

After BOINC restarted I noticed it was now doing AstroPulse work on this computer.

It seems to have finished that work, but now this instance of BOINC says; "XError No Work Available to Process"

Any suggestions?

I just checked my other computers and they are still crunching away at seti@enhanced work.

Thanks,

Frank

And I should hope not too!

When administrators and moderators have that ability, you have to be able to trust them implicitly.

I have helped set up and run several forums over the years, some pretty active and others not so active. And always allowed the ability of "administrators" to edit posts, and pretty much do everything that an "owner" could. Moderators were a bit different matter though, I never gave them the ability to edit posts, but they could lock them, archive them, move them etc...

In my eyes, if someone is given certain abilities (i.e. administration) you have to trust them to the Nth degree, and if you can not, they should not be put in that position to start with.

Have you all looked into using something like SMF for the forums? It gives a really nice layout, and a lot of nice functionality not only on the user side but also on the administrative side of things.

Hope I am not stirring up some sort of hornets nest here, and reigniting any old flames out there. Just trying to figure everything out here.. :)

So if I am poking my nose in where it does not belong, just tell me to be quiet.

Thanks for the reply, I figured that might be it.

I have run a few forums, infact have one going right now on one of my site, and I am just used to archiving some of the offending posts for proof and then mass deleting the rest of the posts, with a good ole ban stick in the backside for final measure, to take care of unruly folks.

So I understand the frustration in regards to forums and those "not so nice" types. Then add into that the wonderful spambots that pop up here ad there and create account, keeps a forum admin reallll busy!!

Thanks for all you folks do, it can become a job and a half to moderate and admin a forum like this.

Not sure what software you all are using, but one suggestion might be if possible create a "group" with special permissions that allow editing ones posts. The criteria could be xxxx posts puts them in that group automatically. Say for instance 1,000 or more posts. Cause normally if someone has that kind of post count in an online forum, they are usually someone that is not just active, but playes by the rules. Just a thought...

Keep up the good work!
