at 4ghz. it will stay stable. the issue is the vrm on mobo(been some interesting talk on both intel and amd)and the ram. tr is very picky with ram. compare to base ryzen chip set.
i have my 1950x running 3.5 atm with 64gb of ram. with running seti,primegrid and plex.. again you got to get the 2 thing i mention in before dialed in.
also air flow. most mobo with the cpu cooler on this are so dam close to hitting mobo parts and gpu. the one issue i had with this socket.

i do agree. yes intel is a bit faster but 3 times the price.
am building atm. a 16 core thread ripper with 64gb of ram and a mid range rx 580
with a uber fast ssd. a few other parts but still the overall cost was 2.5k a intel with invida build would be over 3 k alone.

well finale got a new beefy 4k editing machine with tons of cores and tons of ram. will added it to the list of pc i have. recent got 2 up and running. 2 bad psu and 1 bad mobo on third pc. but psu was fine.
now onto setting up . i hope 50 and up tb nas server.

this is for editing video/photography from 1080p up to 4k.
here are the spec

CPU: AMD - Threadripper 1950X 3.4GHz 16-Core Processor

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master - MA621P TR4 53.4 CFM CPU Cooler (this thing can kill a man)

Motherboard: ASRock - X399 Taichi ATX TR4 Motherboard

Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (wanted to go 128gb but dam the price)

Storage: Western Digital - Black NVMe 500GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive (minuim 2gb write and read speeds)

Video Card: PowerColor - Radeon RX 580 8GB Red Devil Golden Sample Video (looking into getting a second or third card)

Case: Cooler Master - MasterCase H500 ATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply: SeaSonic - FOCUS Gold 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

will rebuild old gaming pc from 2k6 into a nas server. seeing i have around 10tb of storage atm. but want to scale it up to around 50 or so tb

i cannot seem to fix this. by uninstall and reinstall seti and lunatics.
any ideas on how to fix this?
