Sow, you get what you reaper? Guess I can get down wit that idea. But finnegan, if I stick my head in these threads to often, it may get cremated. Casualties passing by are commonly just so much roadkill in here. You've got to spend quite a bit of time to urn your casket in hearse.

But it's easier for you to walk without tipping over.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. You have seen the shoes Kenzie prefers, haven't you? Top heavy or no, I'd have to presume heels like she likes make for some efforts to stay upright! :-)

The squirrels have gotten into the computer. Normally rock solid, typical MTBW* >4 weeks which is not bad for Windoze, but today powered down and would not restart until I literally pulled the plug from the wall.

* Mean Time Between Weirdness

My windoze boxes don't seem to want to go much more than a month before they start breaking, where as my Linux server will go for years - literally. I think the best uptime I had before a power failure (well, UPS failure!) caused a reboot was 384 days. I have seen up times of several years though!

That just means you aren't paying attention and applying security patches in a timely fashion.

Or, at least, that's what my Security Officer tells me at work. :-)

My Unix systems don't need no steenkin' Security Patches. And even if we do need 'em, they sure don't require a reboot to "finish" the updates... Restart a simple service, maybe, at worst, and you're Golden.

Well, I guess I'd better put this captioning out of it's misery. :-)

3rd place goes to
kenzieB: Why you should never eat chili and black bread before going to bed.

2nd place to
Gary Charpentier: Who's Griaffmmal!

And the winner should be
Celtic Wolf: Dr. Leary told me there would be days like this...

Take it away Celtic! And pick a better picture than I did! :-)

PM away...

Hmmm, must have chosen poorly here. 13 hours and nothing new? And still not 10 captioneers? My-oh-my... What will ever become of this...

Time to declare a winner....

Well, the rules state 48 hours, and while I understand the urge to keep things moving, this has been a pretty active one.

In the spirit of the captioning, is it not acceptable to let it continue as long as it's being active? :-) I commonly don't get to each thread every 24 hours, and have missed chances to caption a few that were closed quite rapidly immediately after the minimum 10 captions. I think it's more fun if there's more insights.

EDIT: That said, I guess I need to gladly say thanks for the win and find something to post! :-)

Maybe this?

Wow! Nowhere near 48 hours, but well beyond the mandatory 12 captions. So let's get this moving before the car-wreck gets any worse!

3rd place goes to the somewhat clueless driver of both car and country
Ice: Did I cause that crash?

2nd place goes to the clueless one looking for money for science
Carlos: Whats NASA complaining about? It works fine.

And 1st place, and the keys to the presidential Limo goes to
kenzieB: Due to cutbacks both the Presidential Limousine and the Protection Detail had to be downsized.

PM'ing now.

Nope. They're never easy. Thanks James!

Maybe we'll need to move the thread to the "Politics" forum for this one...

Actually, I was told that it is still illegal in Wisconsin to have less than $1 in your pocket. If you are identified as having no cash, you can be immediately arrested and put in jail as an indigent.

A must see, hopefully this guy can do what he claims with his bloom box, here is a video done by 60 minutes http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=6228923n&tag=related;photovideo and here is the website http://www.bloomenergy.com/

Does it use fossil fuels as the energy source (natural gas or fuel oil)?

It can use Natural Gas or even BiosGas. The big deal is the reaction chamber needs to be very hot. (I think one place I read around 1500 Celcius.) But the amount of fuel needed to produce that kind of heat, which in turn allows the BloomBox to produce power, is significantly less than the amount required by the current infrastructure to produce the same amount of power. This also applies to the CO2 emissions. Even though it currently does use a fossil fuel (Natural Gas) in most installations, it produces significantly less emissions than your power company currently does to produce the same amount of energy.

I believe it was actually in the 60 minutes video that they mention the E-Bay installation was expecting to convert over to BioGas soon.
