Thanks for that answer. I usually run Seti@home using my GPU but its been giving me a lot of blue screens of death lately so went back to just using my CPU. Never noticed them before.

I have a GTX 1050 I think its just going bad. I stopped using my GPU for Seti@home until I can get another one. I know that doesn't answer your question but It least you have one reply.

I've been noticing an extra (I don't know the word for it) but a triplet with an extra one. Four raised bars instead of the normal 3 with green tips. The last bar is raised but no green tip. Most of the ones I've seen have been in the October 2019 work. Anyone else notice this?

Well it has been crunching OK overnight, thought I would do a quick "non scientific" look at the figures.

The 1660 replaced a 1060 and the 970 is in my other machine.

I have done a quick average of the last 20 tasks done by my three cards (not including AP or shorties) and these are the times:

GTX-970 - 6.4 minutes/task

GTX -1060 - 7.3 minutes/task

GTX-1660 - 4.5 minutes/task

*snip*

The interesting thing is the power consumption, 92 watts verses 125 watts.
This is the interesting "non-scientific" data that I am interested in. This implies that the watts per task is significantly lower. I wonder how that compares to the RTX series?

I was thinking of getting the 1660 but I can live with my rather long times of 14 or so minutes/task with my 1050.

I had to disable Norton Internet Security to install the lastest BOINC 7.6.33 since then I've been gettting errors and today Norton quarantined it.

Anyone else get this?

Why do people keep paying for such a piece of software crap after all these years? :-O

Cheers.

Which piece of crap should I use?

Not to many signing the petition. I bet most people don't know what the Arecibo Observatory does. Maybe add to the description that it also searches for Extraterrestrial signals if we don't get 100,000 signatures.

Finally there are "ghosts", tasks that the server has sent to you, but have never arrived, these tend to happen when there is problem with the connection between your computer and the server....

I believe "ghosts" better explains my issue. Thanks.

Right now it shows I have 3 AstroPulse at my account tasks display online. I rarely even get one. These do not exist in my boinc program running right now. I've never had this happen before.

Today(yesterday) I haven't been able to get any tasks so I logged in the website to see what it said under "account" and it said I was in progress 100 tasks but I had none in the boinc program.

Tonight I pressed reset project and I finally got the 100 in boinc but now it says I am "in progress" of 200 tasks under my account which isn't correct.

no you don't!

just need to program K2 mission to give a RED ALERT, when KIC 8462852 start dimming again...

so we have to see patterns in dimming 1st...
then, we have to watch the object in just as patterns begin...
and finally then - we can figure out what's it out there?!
;)

Cool.

We need another Kepler mission. Anyone know of any plans to send another one. This one worked out well even after it broke. : )
