What happens when you temporarily suspend Einstein@home?

(I assume that you have intentionally restricted BOINC to only use one core.)

43) Questions and Answers : GPU applications : After 7 days of GPU crunching AMD driver crashes... (Message 1421203)

Post:
In theory, with that app_config, BOINC should keep one core free for each running GPU task, so 4 in total:
<gpu_usage>.25</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>1</cpu_usage>

@Dave: Did you reboot after the driver crash?

If a crash happens frequently when using th GPU, you should try running less than 4 tasks concurrently.

There are no units waiting to be uploaded on my side. My prefs are set to download up to 15 days of work, and there are plenty of units waiting to be processed on my side.

15 days it a bit much. Try something like 3 plus 1 until all works well again.

Are you sure that the "plenty of units" are processed at all? The last reported task that still shows on your list was uploaded on 9 Sep 2013, 6:06:42 UTC.

I see that you still have set the default of 25% for "Suspend work when non-BOINC CPU usage is above". Try setting that to 0 (no restriction).

Another indication that something is wrong is the error message on the unsuccesful tasks: "Maximum elapsed time exceeded"
Are your tasks perhaps all waiting for a specific resource (see status column in Tasks tab)?

Did you reboot your host recently? Sometimes that helps with stuck tasks (even with linus hosts ;-).

No tasks are available for the applications you have selected.

Which applications do you have selected? (In your SETI@home preferences)
The easiest way to get any is setting "If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?" to yes.

(I'm guessing that if I'd attached to Beta from one of my crunchers, it would have carried over my C-P-ID,

I'm not sure about that. The CPID is a rather wayward entity ;-)

but I didn't want to do that -- I want to keep Beta strictly on my phone, at least for now.) Is there any way to associate my Beta account with my other ones?

Only if you ease up on your strict intention. You need (at least) one host that is connected to each of your projects. It doesn't need to process work, but it must connect regularly.

Do it! People (like me) who don't like the flood of graphics can turn off the display of all signatures.

Why are they waiting - because there's not enough memory or the GPU is missing or what else?

Of the 19 errored task on this host, only one has finished with computation error, the rest was abandoned. And the one has an exit status of "194 (0xc2) EXIT_ABORTED_BY_CLIENT", which doesn't tell us much.

If you want to post the part of your logfile with the error message, go to the BOINC event log (ctrl+shift+E from the advanced view), highlight the lines and click "Copy selected messages". Then paste them here.

To have a post deleted, click the little red x next to the post id# at the bottom and ask to have it removed. Give a reason and a moderator will hide it shortly.

That's not fast enough for me! I like to catch and fix/delete my mistakes before anyone else does.

You can fix your mistakes yourself within the hour by using the Edit button, you just can't delete an entire message.

You are running (or better trashing ;-) at Einstein:
Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo, GPU) v1.39 (BRP4G-cuda32-nv301)
Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Perseus Arm Survey) v1.39 (BRP5-cuda32-nv301)

That looks pretty much like CUDA ;-)

Wrong assumption! :-)

Blanking is a feature of AstroPulse tasks. Currently, V7 tasks are SETI@home ones (are they still called "MultiBeam"?).
