Observation of CreditNew Impact
(Message 1377125)
Posted 13 days ago by Gatekeeper
Snip: Not one V7 unit I've crunched has earned 100 credits. I agree with everything being said. If my RAC graph line were a roller coaster, all the riders would black out from the G forces. But, I was able to find at least one v7 unit that earned over 100 points: here. Look quick before it disappears. (g) |

Lunatics Windows Installer v0.41 Release Notes
(Message 1376871)

No, we still leave the default to crunch 1 WU at a time, download this file, unzip it and place it into the C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu folder, then go to the advanced menu in boinc and select read config files. They're talking about GPU's. As long as your temps are under control, you can run 4 CPU units at a time (2XHT) |

Where to download SETI v7?
(Message 1376717)
Posted 14 days ago by Gatekeeper
I might very well be missing something, but a quick perusal leads me to believe there is no v7 Linux app for CPU's yet, only for GPU's. Oops, my bad; saw that about 10 seconds after I posted. Don't see a direct download link, though. |

I get the following (as others have posted) what do we need to do on our end to continue processing. There is no such thing as seti v7.0.65. That is a BOINC version number. Since you're using app_info (anon platform), you need to run the Lunatics installer, v0.41. You'll find the link to it in the NC forum. |

Which setting for CUDA should I use with multiple mixed GPUs?
(Message 1376303)
Posted 15 days ago by Gatekeeper
I have nVidia 470 and 660ti GPUs in my cruncher and I downloaded and installed the new Lunatics optimizer today. During setup, there are two different preferred CUDA options for each of these GPUs, based on GPU design. Which option should I choose? I'm guessing you went with the cuda42 version. You could also go with the cuda50 version to help your 660ti. The 470 will run either. Personally, I wouldn't go lower than 42. |

I don't want to start a new thread. I run two computers. I have no work on my main one. Lost with these problems > v7 and astro V6. Thanks :-) You're running anon. platform on both. You need the new Lunatics installer (32bit for your XP box), available here |

Is there a thread or a sticky in the Seti@home Science forum that explains Dr. K posted last week that he'd be explaining the differences in v7 processing shortly, but clearly has been very busy with rollout issues. I'm sure he'll get to it when he is able. As to how credit is calculated, you can read more than you ever wanted to know about that here All the "new" programs need time to build up a "history" before credits settle in. And RAC always drops like a stone during these times, and during outages. It takes several times longer to regain "lost" RAC than it does to lose it in the first place. |

Ok , I got 6 wu's with LONNNNG estimated run times , That was expected , I checked the event log and found these errors showing up , I Guess the files will be downloaded as needed ? I got exactly the same thing. And also, next lines of log showed everything restarting normally, and all is fine since. Could it have to do with leaving the app_config file in? |

I really need some help plz, i have v7 checked should i uncheck setiathome enhanched, all that is running on my pc's is the gpu, and nothing shows dling, i am lost as to how to fix this any help would be great,ty You really should post this type of question in the NC forum, or in the Q&A section, but: You're still running anon. platform. Set your rig(s) to NNT, run out the old work and report it, then rename the app_info.xml to something else. Reset the project, and change back to accepting new work. Voila'! |

Hi guys it looks like all is working so I have stoped bionic so I can try and get 2 units going on the GPU Yes. Make sure you change every instance of <count> in your app_info file. You probably already know this, but multiple WU's on your 2XX cards probably won't work. |

How to show graphics on GPU work
(Message 1368021)
Posted 35 days ago by Gatekeeper
Someone with more technical knowledge could give you a better explanation, but AFAIK, only the CPU apps have the code to run the screensaver. I know it has been specifically excluded in all the "optimized" apps, including the ones for CPU, to make the programs more efficient. I believe the screensaver is an openGL program, and the CUDA (GPU) programs don't leave enough overhead. But as I said, I'm just a "user". (g) |

Hi there, You've received 16 units of work. Everything looks good so far. As the work is completed, BOINC will automatically upload and report it and send you more work. You don't need to do anything. |

For some reason, I do have not been able to get any new units for most of the day, completely out of units to crunch as well, tried the usual kick to try and get things going but nothing :( And, as is usually the case, 25 minutes after you posted, one of your rigs got work. |
