Has the default limit for CPU tasks been lowered?

Server side limits are still 100 per CPU/GPU.

Then I do not understand the "Max tasks per day 33" line. The computer hasn't even completed 1 of these tasks yet, so it cannot have had its MAX lowered because of problems.

Not one V7 unit I've crunched has earned 100 credits.

No, we still leave the default to crunch 1 WU at a time, download this file, unzip it and place it into the C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu folder, then go to the advanced menu in boinc and select read config files.

Sweet. It's running two at the same time now. I ran three at a time before, is there a way to achieve this still?

With the new files being processed, it is recommended to only do 2 at a time as they take more processing power.

Juat wanted to confirm, but previously I was running 4 units at a time on my i3 2100 (2 cores with hyperthreading). With v7, which I have noticed takes an extra 45~ min to complete, should I limit to processing 2 at a time instead? I didn't catch whether your discussion was about GPU or CPU

I might very well be missing something, but a quick perusal leads me to believe there is no v7 Linux app for CPU's yet, only for GPU's.

Then update your app_info.xml with one that does, with the Latest Lunatics Installer.

I have the same problem.

I installed the latest SETI version 7.0.65. Since "setiathome_v7" is what is in the app_info.xml file what is the correct string for version 7 (as I have not been able to find the correct string)?

My recommendation (Subject to change after I try it) would be:
- Set No New tasks
- Wait until tasks all complete, upload & report
- delete app_info.xml from the project directory
- reset the project
- Allow New tasks

Extra notes: Probably need to check web options too in there somewhere [OK :)]. I'd try let the server decide amongst the compatible versions over some time with one instance per GPU (underutilised due to memory intensive Autocorrelations) then worry about multi instances after things settle in. You'd likely want either newer Recommended Boinc for that, or wait for installer for older Boinc clients to run with app_info (anonymous platform)

You'll need to ensure the web preference for V7 is ticked as well, which I gather it probably is.

So what is the correct app_name for SETI v7.0.65?

I have nVidia 470 and 660ti GPUs in my cruncher and I downloaded and installed the new Lunatics optimizer today. During setup, there are two different preferred CUDA options for each of these GPUs, based on GPU design. Which option should I choose?

I chose the CUDA settings for the 470, because I thought these settings would work for both GPUs, whereas choosing the 660ti settings might hamper the 470. However, it seems that with these settings, the 660ti is running slow.

Any help and recommendations here would be gratefully appreciated. I realize that these Lunatics optimizations are brand new to everyone but I thought I'd ask my Seti brethren.

I don't want to start a new thread. I run two computers. I have no work on my main one. Lost with these problems > v7 and astro V6. Thanks :-)

Is there a thread or a sticky in the Seti@home Science forum that explains
the difference between V7 and V6 and how Boinc and credit granting might be affected?
Most crunchers aren't competing with others but rather with themselves.
We can all look at Statistics and see what hardware it takes to get a certain RAC.
RAC is a measure of how well I tend my crunchers and how much science they're doing.
If my RAC drops are my crunchers doing less science?
Do I have a Virus?
Is my hardware showing signs of impending failure?

All crunchers are showing signs of lower credits per unit time crunching.
Does this mean V7 is doing less science or is this a transition artifact peculiar to Boinc?

Ok , I got 6 wu's with LONNNNG estimated run times , That was expected , I checked the event log and found these errors showing up , I Guess the files will be downloaded as needed ?

Shut down BOINC
Re-run the installer - make sure you've chosen the right one (32-bit or 64-bit) to match the version of BOINC you're running.
Re-start BOINC
Post the first 30-40 lines from your event log.

I really need some help plz, i have v7 checked should i uncheck setiathome enhanched, all that is running on my pc's is the gpu, and nothing shows dling, i am lost as to how to fix this any help would be great,ty

Hi guys it looks like all is working so I have stoped bionic so I can try and get 2 units going on the GPU

If I understand the posts about this subject what value do I put in the xml file at the moment I have this

<count>1</count>

So if I understand correctly for 2 units I would change it to .5 and 3 units .33 is that correct ?

I just joined SETI@home and I would like to contribute in some way. However....I am rather perplexed by the Bonic program, and need some guidence on how to work it. Help would be much appreciated

For some reason, I do have not been able to get any new units for most of the day, completely out of units to crunch as well, tried the usual kick to try and get things going but nothing :(
