I know very well the data center, as was one of the Project managers responsible for moving systems and servers around campus to the new installations end of 2005 and 2006 I believe - well they were new then, and the best data center I have seen.

How ever, thieves of copper wire in the states? Thought that was only here in São Paulo (Brasil) that idiots did those things, and even with lines with current flowing. So every now and then, you read about a few chared bodies found in manhole access in the city, where they thnk they can just cut a few 15kv lines out (connected) and they will live to enjoy the spoils.

Yea,the idiots around the world are all the same. Shame to hear about this in the Berkley área where there are suppose to be above average of educated population, and would consider thieves with a little over a above knowdlege of danger.

I "chip in" since around 1996 when first heard about it. Computers getting faster, really use less power for many time more processing now a days! As 100s of thousands of computers owners, we donate time to good causes. When started to get tight on $$$ (here in Brazil really Reais) I just shut down for longer periods of time. I only expect that when SETI finds something, governments do not put a gag on you all.

Cloud computing thanks to SETI and now others, is here to stay, and only growing every year. If I can donate to science, I will do it. Just wish I had more processers, and THAT SETI get some work units available so I can continue number crunching for SETI, my number 1 cause!

SETI Staff, congrats on the move to you new headquarters. Next time I make it up to Silicon Valley from Brazil, I will want to stop in and drop you off some REAL coffee.

Today I allowed system to upgrade from some version 5 of Bionc to 6.2.18 I am running Windows XP. Until this mid morning here in Brazil) NEVER had a problem, both CPUs running perfectly crunching away. Only once in a while would abort one running as has hours and no % completed. Maybe one out of 50 or more.

After upgrading to 6.2.18, I only have one CPU running, and as it should. Second CPU I can not get it running Seti. I only run SETI. I check preference and nothing is changed, both CPUs. pushed to 4, still can not get a task of SETI to run now on the second CPU.

Currently searching my disks for the older version and see if I can roll-back to 5 something. I am loosing a lot of CPU power to heat and idle program. Anybody know how to resolve this? THank you
