Don't know about anyone else, but to me a tomato should be nice and red......

What next? Pink Apples and Green Oranges?

You mean oranges that are still their natural colour?

that looks like Ugli fruit or Jamaican Tangelo which has a natural green color when ripe. that is not an orange as we'd call an orange an orange

We keep adding to our debt, we keep raising taxes, we keep saying we need to destroy the rich and we keep wondering why our welfare rolls keep increasing, our food stamp rolls keep increasing and the number of jobs keeps decreasing. What's the definition of insanity again?

An uncompromising minority in Congress, Unfortunately you have to raise taxes after you've gutted them, Nobody needs to destroy the rich, they'll do that on their own, though it would be nice to see hereditary wealth taken out of our system(see English Lords). one can only wonder how our welfare rolls are increasing as the wealthy see fit to send all decent paying manufacturing jobs overseas. The poor have little recourse(please no diatribe about bootstraps and pulling oneslef up). Food stamps are welfare so you hit the same note twice but I agree that job creation is important and business might consider it beneficial to employ and pay people at a decent wage so their employees might someday purchase the goods they make.
Definition- Republican party. Keep bringing up the same bad ideas and expecting different results. Oh and I am still waiting for the conservative alternative to ACA.

BTW the 3rd party GPU HSF doesnt fit just right. the screw down heat sink screw holes don't align correctly. If I had a workshop I'd have just drill new holes. As it was I had plenty of extra smaller Heat sinks that I just lined up to cover it.

I run 4 WU's at a time now with no real slow downs

Speaking as an outside observer, I feel it might be a good thing if conservative Americans were targeted by the police becuase of who they are, instead of what they did or didn't do. This would give them some insight into how it feels to be a black or hispanic American.

Extremely OFFENSIVE Comment Above and Extremely RACIST.

All HuWoMans are Fed The ShitPie of Life in One Way or Another.

I Don't Need to put myself in anyone else's shoes to Know, Life Is a mO fO.

I didn't realize that rich old white people are a race unto themselves. Hardly a racist comment more of an overview of the police state actually picking on another minority other than the ones that have color to their skin.
The only way this could possibly be construed as racist is if you believe the police don't target non whites for searches and non-violation stops such as those in NYC that are clearly meant to harass those that the white police think need harassing.

and as the case is, rich influential people on both sides are being indited all the time in political scandals. Our current batch of whiners are blaming the Prez for their own poor choices. As I stated before, they should consider not breaking the law before breaking the law

and arrest by Obama Amazingly, simple solution to the problem. STOP DOING ILLEGAL $9!7 !!!
Crying foul and calling the Obama administration fascists is hardly the truth. Being caught in an illegal act and making the excuse of selective political persecution is quaint but inaccurate.
Of course, it could be that famous people facing legal trouble seem to commonly assume they're being singled out because of who they are. D'Souza is not the first prominent individual to face charges for allegedly using straw donors to give more than the legal limit to political campaigns. Nor is he the first to fall back on the assumption that the feds must be targeting him for those contributions because he's famous.

sorry conservatives blaming others because you got caught didn't work when you were 3 it still doesn't work when you are an adult. Or did you think that silver spoon provided immunity from being arrested

If it has been started by the DOJ then it is a political decision. It is not as though the police has discovered crime and reported upwards this is n investigation ordered by those at the top.

again you don't really understand the US gov't. DOJ is typically apolitical. DOJ and the attorneys general investigate, through the FBI what they see as and states acknowledge as a federal crime. Illegal wiretapping, interstate/international drug trade and kidnapping fall under federal jurisdiction because to nature of the wire services and the likelihood of the crimes to occur over several state lines of jurisdiction. DOJ is not a workhorse to take up issues from congress.

You may have a case of the GPU being to NEW for the project to identify it. FOr instance, look at my computers and you'll see one of them is running a 2048 MB Hawaii GPU. The reality is this GPU is a R9 290X with 4096 MB. Yours may be so different from previous GPU's that BOINC just shrugs its shoulders and moves on.

the big difference in the US and EU countries is that each state of the EU runs its own military. They are united in name only. The only way to govern a bunch of separate states is to unite the states militarily, scientifically, governmentally as well as monetarily. Monetarily for economics scientifically for shared exploration and militarily for mutual protection. Governing the separate states is like herding cats or leading the UN. Some just choose not to go with a dictate so they aren't forced to comply So far the EU barely has 1 of these going.

just for giggles... after uninstalling your AMD drivers did you run a 3rd party driver removal tool. This is a common problem with video drivers not working correctly upon install.

A FEW GENUINE QUESTIONS...ATLEAST FOR ME.

(1) When we talk about Signals, and we do get a lot of them, which are then filtered and rigid tested and so on n so forth...What exactly are we trying to hear out for in the first place?
yes
Currently we have several billion signals found.

(2) Is there a specific alien signal pattern already developed or imagined...and then the signals which we receive are compared to that pattern?

How it works Though we assume these parameters are what we'd hear if we sent signals into space. We do send signals to our spacecraft and even television. So some alien civilization may be watching or hearing our radio and TV shows.

(3) Clearly I am confused...are we trying to listen to an alien sneeze, or trying to tune in on their daily soap operas, can we pick up their farts???

We are trying to find any instance of repeatable signals from the same place in our galaxy. Signals that are to strong are clearly from earth. to weak and we just won't hear them. This leaves us looking at star systems that are no further than about 100 light years away. Anything further and the signal would just be to weak to reach us.

(4) I also observed that emphasis is laid on the signal to be of repetitive pattern n should be continuous n generate from the same area in the sky...so if they are on a light speed starship like Enterprise, the signal wouldn't qualify?

it would be unlikely that a ship in space would send out signals in our direction or that the signal would be repeated. We are looking for civilizations not starships.

(5) Given the long distances in light years could it be possible that we might intercept a signal from a civilization which is already extinct?
Only if died in the last 100 years or so. We can only "hear" signals from less than 100 light years away.

P.S. - somehow I am getting a feeling that I should have never asked these questions and kept my doubts to myself, well too late for repenting!!!

Why not? You wanted to know and nobody here is realistically going to beat you up about wanting more information on the topic.
Just so you get an idea how weak of a signal we are looking for...
Voyager
The sensitivity of our deep-space tracking antennas located around the world is truly amazing. The antennas must capture Voyager information from a signal so weak that the power striking the antenna is only 10 exponent -16 watts (1 part in 10 quadrillion). A modern-day electronic digital watch operates at a power level 20 billion times greater than this feeble level.

So if we can hear that we can surely hear aliens if they want to be heard

we aren't rechecking anything. So far since the inception of BOINC WU's are processed once(ran by 2 or more computers to get a consensus if signals in a WU) Some work is from what was considered unusable data from a few years ago but they've been able to get the data out of the tapes now.

REAL TIME- were we expecting a call. Does a tape that is running right now hold the signal or one from 5 years ago. For real time observation to work each computer would have to be attached to the satellite records and receive work as its made. This is unlikely to ever happen. Say we do find a signal in a background noise. We'd still have to confirm it and respond to it. being that the closest star is 6 light years away it seems like we have a great deal of time to work on a response or prepare for their visit.

If you look at the computer record (5553389) It doesn't have a driver listed in the Coprocessor field:

AMD Bonaire (2048MB) OpenCL: 1.02

So I'm not so sure the project really knows that I have a GPU at all...

It's not that it doesn't show a driver, It doesn't show a CAL driver, But we don't use CAL, we use OpenCL instead,
AMD was supposed to be deprecating CAL, perhaps you GPU is the first not to have CAL support, anyone else with a Bonaire?

I did ask DA to put in the OpenCL APP driver version on the Computer Details pages, he did something different and put the OpenCL spec the GPU Hardware/Software conforms to,
So can you run CLinfo from the Cmd Prompt and post the details from it please, (Not sure if it'll tell us anything particularly useful through)

We might need to get Eric to change some of the GPU requirements to allow you to get work (If it's not an installation problem)

Edit: Another Option is to use the Lunatics Installer, that will bypass some of the Server side GPU requirements.

Claggy

Actually that is exactly the message I received. No cal support. I assumed the driver failed to start so I restarted WIndows, no luck. Then did the amd driver reinstall and lunatics reinstall.

I hazard a guess that the CAL missing message is the minimum requirement for a GPU project setup in BOINC. This tells me the drivers failed or are missing. BOINC sees the card but not the drivers.

I notice that my big machine had done the same thing. AMD driver reinstall and a Lunatics reinstall and it worked just fine. Somehow my Win7 just forgot it had drivers and was content to run without them.

if you are looking at the actual WU's themselves, NO!!! THe WU dates are the day they are collected. You need to use the BOINC manager to look at the sent and deadline dates for the WU's in question. I'm betting these WU's are doing just fine and don't need your intervention. BOINC does a very good job at getting work done in an efficient manner
