Patience Daniel- san. Posts crying for an update make me laugh. When its up, it will be up. Do like I did and pick another project to volunteer for or donate a buck or 2 to try to help out( did both mind). Posting your opinion about what they should or shouldnt do to inform you is silly.

Anyway how about that movie eh? Da Vinci Code shocked the critics and I loved it. Very rarely does a movie follow so closely to that of the book.

As stated previously, and I agree, the women were just as important not more important and vice versa. I do not want to see woman flipped to the direction of males in society, instead I only want to see the balance of power restored. It should not be one sided. You see it shouldnt be Male or Female over the other. The unity of both is the strength of the species. Without the one the other is useless. We NEED each other- period. (basic human reproduction there) The sacred female has almost been completely forgotten. I believe it needs to change.

Btw I am not a chick, just a guy that read a book and happens to agree with the author on the subject of women's place in the world.

Ah well good times. Glad to see people can actually discuss it without causing a riot.

The fact that men are the predominant decision-makers now is only the consequence of the religious infiltration into our lives

{tone:rational and calm}
In the west men are the decision makers in the same way that Madonna's driver is in charge of her car. The idea that men are in charge was invented by one faction of the feminist movement in the late sixties to discredit men and take even more control away from them. It has been very successful, in the same way and for the same reasons that the weak HIV virus is successful. It disables the defenses that might be used to fight off the attack.

The primary cause of war is overpopulation and the consequent fighting over resources.

I disagree. Hundreds of years of being told that women are the cause of blah blah blah (pick random religion here, christianity/islam) Women were demonized because of men, and that simply is not the case. Women are and always will be , the lifegivers and should be revered. This is no longer the case.

I think the roles of men and women are rooted in the emergence of the species, back in a time when women who were pregnant or caring for infants for most of their short lives were simply incapable of protecting themselves.

No argument that long after these once necessary roles became obsolete, they were mandated by religions.

The good news is that I've seen nothing but overall progress for both women and men in my lifetime. One of my early memories of big business dealings is Joan Crawford, the new chairman of Pepsi Cola and her intro to the board of directors: "Don't f*** with me, fellas!"

But until the rise of Christianity and the downfall of paganism, it was in fact quite popular to see woman as an equal. This is not something to do with the species, but social factors of the time that have sadly left things as they currently are, and I believe it is time for change.

As far as your comments on religion are concerned.....why oppose only 'organized' religion? Is it less harmful to the mind and life of man when it's disorganized and chaotic? But I do agree with you that in the whole it's harmful.

As for this, I believe in spirituality of one's self without a middle man to reach enlightenment or the need to accept money for it. Most 'organized' religions do this.

This depends on what animal species in nature you choose to study. It varies wildly. In short I don't agree with your premise that nature behaves this way nor do I believe that applying behaviors found in lower animals to the complex human construct is valuable. We're not troglodites. We're Rational Animals using deeply complex abstract concepts to organize our thoughts of the world around us.

Ill rephrase, what other species do you know that teachs that their counterparts (male OR female) are lesser or should have less rights etc? (lets again assume mammals as we can agree most are smarter) Dolphins , chimps etc. Lets not talk about canabilistic insects :P

And military and intellegence has always been mutually exclusive and I assume that is doubly true when computers are invovled. *MOST* governement systems are out of date. That is a fact.

After all, what self respecting network engineer would use "wordpad" anyways?

Acutally its a wonderful tool that or notepad to communicate with someone that has access to the console while you are connected.

Working for a server hosting company I have done this many times to talk to customers who are remotely logged in.

Also in terms of security, yes this happens all the time. Blank passwords are common. Especially for windoz users...

This is of course my opinion so dont flip out...

I will gladly admit that what I am about to say was inspired by a book of fiction, the Di Vinci Code, some of the facts presented within cannot be ignored.

As I recall packs, groups of animals etc one thing remains. While yes there is a dominent male, most of the pride/community is run by a female.

This is something we have gone away from in terms of our way of life, our religion, our work place etc.

I believe that men are ruining the world. Before you freak out, please read everything first. The reason I say this is, the role of the woman has changed. They should be the leaders if not in whole, in equal part. That is the way of nature. Balance in all things. Yin and Yang.

Most religions show men as the dominant presence but that is simply not the case. I think we need to reject religions (Christianity , Islam) and anything thing else that demonizes women in anyway. This is historically false and unjust to our partners. Hell the bible starts out blaming women for sin. We must change the way we think one person at a time. Embrace the love of women as equals. Do not force them to cover thier faces. Women are to be desired because they are beautiful.

I think the Pagans were closer to enlightment than the Pope will ever be. I am not a Pagan myself in fact I think all organized religions are crazy. However I think the balance has tipped too far one direction and we must correct it or face the consequences of our actions(or lack thereof).

I am not trying to start a holy war, in fact, I want to prevent them for all times.

Regarding Enterprise:

The reason it failed was because the first season sucked. The story behind it was drug out like some poor japanimation cartoon of Goku and Freeza fighting for like a month, but it lasted a full season long.

The idea was good, the storyline cute, but wtf did they expect OBVIOUSLY the earth doesnt get destroyed. But Dark how can you possibly know? Easy. Every other star trek storyline would not exist then.

So we were strung out for an entire season for no reason with a predictable end, just with a few twists and turns.

The reason that the original Star Trek and ST:TNG were so successful is simple. THERE WAS NO STORYLINE. You couldnt really chain the entire season together in 1 story.

You had scooby doo in space with high tech shit. It was about the mystery on every episode. Ya you would have references to things that happened last week sometimes or 3 seasons ago, but still no REAL storyline.

I havent seen anything after TNG but I look forward to giving DS9 and Voyager a shot like I did for enterprise.

IMO I would like to see the next obvious step.

Star Trek: Romulus <---mine you steal it I keel you, twice.

Show us the story behind our enemy. Their way or life, how they disliked us etc etc.

Nuclear still has tremendous toxic waste problems ...

In space, who cares? Put it in the trash chute and push the eject button. Shoot it toward a sun where the nuclear reactions of the solar activity will far outweigh the effects of a small amount of the human's radioactive waste.

...but it does provide lots of electrical energy, which can be used with the casimir effect drive, basically a form of motion derived from interaction of VERY STRONG electric fields to provide effective directional thrust... "to those sceptics reading -it has already been tested and works, look up your history-- ... realistically we have to wait for fusion not this messy fision

Casimir effect is between two objects in a vacuum. With a spacecraft, you're left with one object (not two), in a vacuum. How would you produce your motion? One might think it could work within a gas cloud because you could use the molecules of the cloud as the second object, but how would it work in a decent vacuum?

Hello Sleestak, I wondered about your comment on the Casimir effect until I did a google/dogpile/yahoo and finally Copernic on it... now I see where you coming from. So now I have a problem, sitting in my hand is a report dated 1997 about the initial theory of and eventual testing of a form of what I personally shall now call "electro-propulsion" as very strangely the casimir name has been taken and reused for this other "effect". However the report originated in the government [NASA] archives on potential technology. The concept is actually a form of Propellant-less propulsion, no throw away red hot atoms of plasma or hydrogen ions etc. The concept involves interaction of both electric and electrostatic fields, with the byproduct of induced motion. I know it sounds strange, but have a look at this header from the archive..

The challenge to create the space drive
Millis, Marc G.
NASA Center for AeroSpace Information
Annual International Space Development Conference, New York, NY, United States, 23-24 May 1996 , 19960801; Aug. 1996
To travel to our neighboring stars as practically as envisioned by science fiction, breakthroughs in science are required. One of these breakthroughs is to discover a self-contained means of propulsion that requires no propellant. To chart a path toward such a discovery, seven hypothetical space drives are presented to illustrate the specific unsolved challenges and associated research objectives toward this ambition. One research objective is to discover a means to asymmetrically interact with the electro-magnetic fluctuations of the vacuum. Another is to develop a physics that describes inertia, gravity, or the properties of spacetime as a function of electro-magnetics that leads to using electro-magnetic technology for inducing propulsive forces. Another is to determine if negative mass exists or if its properties can be synthesized. An alternative approach that covers the possibility that negative mass might not exist is to develop a formalism of Mach's Principle or re-formulate ether concepts to lay a foundation for addressing reaction forces and conservation of momentum with space drives.

15) Message boards : Number crunching : Identifying BIOS password - how? (Message 283514)

Post:
I have decided that I need to examine the default settings for my dual 2.8GHz Xeon rig which is coming up for 3 years old now.

This was custom built for me,and the guy that did it found that WinXP trashed when HT was switched off in the BIOS.

To protect me from a complete reinstall he password protected the BIOS and never told me it. Three years on he has forgotten it.

Oh! I have full administrator rights.

My BIOS is from Phoenix Technologies Ltd
No: SE7505 VB20.86B.033.P07.030641451
Dated: 24th June 2003 (I don't want it reflashed)
Plug and Play V 1.00
SMBIOS/DMIV 2.F0

(details care of Sisoft Sandra)

I have Googled for BIOS password recovery methods and software (free preferably), and seen a number of techniques. This includes an overnight removal of the CMOS battery and backdoor passwords for the specific BIOS types!

Before I get moving on the backdoors and software accesses Google gave me! Can I ask ...

QUESTION: Can anyone recommend a relatively guaranteed way of accessing the BIOS password for my system, and point me where I need to go to get it. I am happy to purchase accessing software which will actually do the job!

Easiest way to deal with this... pop the case, remove the battery for 10 seconds plug it back in, bios is password free.

Your welcome.

I tend to let those from Seti make this call. But of course, this is just my opinion.

For nothing more than playing devil's advocate, let us first take into consideration that life, planets, stars, everything is completely random. Let us then assume this is fact. IF the previous statement is true then there is a possibility, (however unlikely that I personally believe) that our solar system is 100% unique. Odds are against it, but even the 50 to 1 horse wins from time to time. Which time is it for the Universe?
