We can always hope that with the connections being down means that the faulty router is being fixed/replaced.

Cheers.

We can only hope, meanwhile If I run out of wu's, I have Einstein all set to takeover for the interim.

Well, hope keeps us alive, doesn't it (she? I'm not so firm in English).

But I am willing to donate the US$ equivalent of 1000.- Swiss Francs for the purchase of a new router if it can be assured that this money goes really there and could help fix the problem.

I spent around 2000 Swiss Francs (much more, but don't tell my wife...) to upgrade/renew my gear for better performing with S@H (and play some newer games, right). And now 'm sitting here without (continuously) work to crunch.

Tell me how I can help you and I'm more than willing to help in my limited extent.

The "STOP moaning" and "Keep your moth shut" option I was taught by the Brits isn't really an option for me, anymore.

BR

Andy

"Yes I am talking to myself, yeah yeah..."

Not really like Billy the Idol, but it seems my double post kicked SETI@Home in another dimension where we're not longer able to connect in any way, neither by proxy nor by trans-dimensional warp antimatter black-hole Kung-Fu Chas-Cha Voodoo magic.
To sad. :-))

@ admin(s):
Could you "please" delete one of my double posts above (guess which one)?
No idea how I managed to achieve this.
Thanks & BR Andy

With (again) a proxy I got finally some results uploaded and a few new WUs.
Not continuously - but hey I am happy with everything I can get :-)

Double WUs I would like more than double posts ^^

A dumb question whose answer is useful... well, thanks. I really mean that honestly, thanks.

I think there should be at least two different threads in this forum regarding the current "panic mode" issues.

One for people having really problems and another one for people who like to celebrate the successful download of 5 WU's or more ;-)

This would have from my POW two key benefits:

(A) I would only read the complaining thread as my (and some others) S@H-situation just belongs there. We could build up a Moaning Society, share solutions (proxys) etc.

(B) The Ladies and Gentlemen who are (again) able to connect and proceed as usual could do the celebration in their own thread without making me (and others) jealous or nervous. If I'm really after such feelings I can still go in and read there.

Nevertheless I don't have a clue why a message like "I could download x WU's in less than x seconds" gives any added value to a "panic mode" thread.
You're freaking out cause you're able to down- and/or upload?

Of cause, it was meant to be a joke. But when I think over it again... hmmm

It IS a good idea... shall I open one? And one of the happy winners opens another?

Why not make a lottery?

The winners get an exclusive access for a limited period of time to download WUs and a couple of days later exclusive access to upload the results ;-)

My chances to get at least some WUs really finished are then probably much higher than under the current circumstances.

I know... my account shows over 200 WU's in progress. But in reality they're bimbeling around in the down- or upload queue.

I always thought that the mapping of IP-addresses to names has to be unique.

How is the SETI-setup

208.68.240.13 boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu
208.68.240.18 boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu

(according to nslookup) then working?

Is there an understandable explanation for a non IP-expert like me?

Thanks in advance

Well, not for me

30.09.2011 03:18:00 | SETI@home | Requesting new tasks for CPU and ATI GPU
30.09.2011 03:18:43 | | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site

VW Bobier's Message 1155100 a little down this thread made me think about the following:

I know the status of my current credit, because it is listed below the name of the posters in the thread. Also, you may be able to find this out by means of your account page.

But is there any way to find out how many tasks I have been able to run over the times?

With my system, this is still a little hard to find out. I have both several physical disks, most of them with several partitions on them (that is what I chose to have).

In some instances, I also have several logs. In fact, this can be having some advantages as well, in that numbers that could be considered to be slightly different when it comes to the sets of logs rather than the single lines themselves are more discernible or evident.

Could we please concentrate on the issue some users "NOT" getting "ANY" WUs instead of the users not getting "ENOUGH" WUs for any particular given set of hardware or their personal needs.
Thanks.

You're aware of the fact that "some" people are still not getting any response from the servers, aren't you?

I'll give a shit about "limits", I dont get any non-proxy-work at all.
