I suspect we have several issues at the moment. The major one is that people are completing units when they get them, the get uploaded and with the pending results out of action we have no way of seeing where they go. This is making people nervous.

As a large fraction of the people worrying are blokes there is also the immediate gratification factor, I want to see my units credited and I want it now. In a few weeks when the system is (heopefull) running more smoothly we will see out totals going up. The trouble is it will not be like SAH classic, where you could see the effect of every upload on your score.

As several people have said, are we in it for the science or the leaderboard. Of course the answer for a lot of people is both.

I suspect this will become slightly quicker as more users log on, creating a larger pool of processed WUs, but there will always be some long verifications.
