Hark! What's that smell? What is that strange warm damp smell of old fetid wet socks that has just rolled through?... Has some idiot done the dirty again?... Cue a sudden darkness. And a long low rumble from the distance... Eh? Bright blue flash, crash bang, and a thunderous roar of a sudden wall of rain. Ok... 'Ere we go again, splosh. Wow... That was highly localized, short, and swift, but brutally wet. Instant quagmire anyone?... See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

I’m just happy my forecast is in the 80’s at the low spot. We got a new hire last night. He didn’t last long before wilting in in the heat. He clocked 4.5 hours and was gone. I wonder how long the next guy will last? |

Well, if only the weather would make it's mind up.... Looking to the west -black clouds, thunder, and loads of rain. Looking to the east - brilliant blue sky. Looking to north or south - a very visible line between the east and the west. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Winning on a Thorsday morning with a 5C (feels like 2C) start here while 16C is expected and the rain here is now due this evening continuing through tomorrow. Now where's my coffee? Cheers. |

Well... It should be still warm enough... Except... All this water sloshing about, and the sharp damp chill in the air, makes this all feel much more like winter... Stay warm?! See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

We have an unpredictably sunny morning here so the shed's solar heating system should hopefully be enough to get it warm enough for me to see if I can finish cleaning up downstairs today. We're now up to 9C (feels like 7C) here. Cheers. |

Would you believe it...? It is 2022... Supposedly we've had the internet for over half a century and widespread access to a "modern day" internet for over three decades and... Here am I, in the dark by the glow of a few blinking lights, warmed by the the cold bright light of an LED screen, and... WHAT?!... The only way to talk to this 'ere thing is via an old physical serial link and bash out "AT+" codes?!!!... (For some reason, the USB interface ain't working and unhelpfully gives a repeated "Transaction timed out"...) Yep... There is still a good use for CAPS-LOCK! (At least it's not raining here...) I did light the fire downstairs and got another hour's worth of cleaning up done down there before I decided that I'd better get my last coffee break in for the morning. Anyhow a high thin layer of overcasting cloud and the wind have turned up here as we're currently now at to 12C (feels like 7C). Cheers. |

Old "AT+" codes? They are almost relaxing for the gentle pace of check a not-so-old manual, but one that has lots of "shall provide" and "optional" as though copied directly from the interface design specs, work through a few incantations and check results, hot brew, repeat. There's some beautiful old arcanery lost in that lot! Lots of twiddly detail!! ... Do we get some "AT++" codes yet to come?... Winning after a few more hours of cleaning up, but the further that I get into it the less progress shows for the effort put in. Time for some real lunch today and maybe even a short spinal reset. Cheers. |

As the sun sets here the rain falls. We only got to 14C (felt like 10C) here today. Cheers. |
