Here, we've gone all Mediterranean! Both for the weather and the alfresco dining and drinking. The mozzies have had a feast also... See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

Good luck for good results! Over here, wondering where the sunny Mediterranean stuff has disappeared to so soon... Have we already polluted our weather systems into rushing through a new season twice a day??? Well, Londinium was fun today. Journey down was more or less as expected. First site was a very expensive call out for them - why the chuff chuff can't people just replace cables that are commonly available, but would rather call someone out to do the job for them. Five cables with a total cost of about seventy quid are costing them several hundred pounds by the time I bill them mileage, travel time, call-out fee, and get the new cables delivered to them (with a "sensible" mark-up). Second and third sites were really quite nice, if a bit warm and sweaty. One bit of their new kit delivered by hand and a quick "press this button" training session. Look and see exactly what cables and work are going to be needed to the rest of their installation. Scope out another small installation for them. Cold drinks were provided, always a bonus when jumping in and out of cars on screaming hot days ("only" 32C in the shade - customer's car was not in the shade.......). Head home via M25, M1 and M42. Incoming call on way home (thank goodness for hands free and call record). Another job tomorrow, in the Brecon Mountains - should be a bit cooler up there, along with a chance to play narrow gauge trains at some point during the day :-) Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Finally we got the mostly sunny day forecasted after days of promises so much progress was made on 2 steel projects as we reached 14C (felt like 9C) outside (though it felt much warmer in my suntrap out of the wind in front of the shed). Anyhow it's finally time for some food and a pill as I try to stay awake an hour or so longer. [edit] Well that's enough for me today so it's time for a proper early night tonight. Cheers. |

The biggest day yet was had today doing steel surgery, but great progress was made on 2 fronts, and tomorrow will be the 1st test on 1 part to see how well it takes a good wack and what that wack produces. Anyhow I've finally been fed and I'm almost ready for bed. Cheers. |

Have made it to my weekend today. Just a two day job. Been doing overtime at work trying to keep up with orders. World conflicts, pandemics and natural disasters seem to keep us busy lately. |
