And now Fox News has been sanctioned by the Judge.

Reuters April 12, 2023 9:21 PM GMT+1 - US judge hits Fox News with sanction for withholding defamation case evidence -NY Times
The judge overseeing the $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems against Fox News said on Wednesday he was imposing a sanction on the network and very likely would investigate whether Fox's legal team withheld evidence, the New York Times reported.

Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric Davis issued the sanction after Dominion's lawyers revealed instances in which Fox's attorneys did not turn over evidence in a timely manner,
...
In sanctioning Fox, Davis ruled that if Dominion now needs to conduct additional depositions or redo any already done, that "Fox will do everything they can to make the person available, and it will be at a cost to Fox," according to the Times.

The newspaper reported that the judge took his action based on details from a new filing in a separate lawsuit against Fox by Abby Grossberg, a former producer at the network.

Grossberg said in her latest filing that she has tapes of former Trump lawyers, including Giuliani, conceding they lacked evidence for their claims. The recordings and transcripts of them were widely circulated and discussed within Fox, Grossberg added.

I wonder how much sleazy Rupert is paying his lawyers to tale a bullet for him.

Fox News apologizes to judge who slammed them for potential legal 'misrepresentations'.

Though it'll be interest to see what the special master turns up (or should I say, uncovers?).

It looks like Rupert, the fake news purveyor extraordinaire, is gearing up for a losers steak as well now.

Fox thinks it has a better shot on appeal — but former prosecutor thinks that's a losing bet too.

May his sleazy lying empire turn to dust.

I'm sorry betreger, but we can't as he threw away his Aussie citizenship (thankfully) though you could try the U.K. as I think that he still has citizenship there. ;-)

Rupert basically concedes that his fake news network lied.

Fox settles $1.6bn defamation case with Dominion.

Now bring on Smartmatic's case.

[Update] Fox News and Dominion reach $787.5M settlement just before defamation trial was set to begin.

And they'll likely lose this case as well.

Fired Fox News producer reveals new evidence in Dominion’s $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit.

Fox News is not only facing a $1.6 billion lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems — it is also facing a lawsuit from a former producer, Abby Grossberg, who was fired in March and alleges that attorneys for the right-wing cable news outlet tried to coerce her into giving misleading testimony in the Dominion case....

And Rupert's problems may not end there either.

Fox News settlement doesn't stop special master probe that could end in obstruction charges.

Former FBI general counsel Andrew Weissmann said Tuesday that a special master investigation into Fox News could likely continue despite the settlement between Dominion Voting Systems and the conservative network.

Fox was found to have withheld evidence in the case that should have been part of the discovery process.

Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric Davis announced Tuesday that he was appointing Delaware litigator John Elzufon to oversee the investigation into whether Fox News followed discovery demands.

Last week, Davis sanctioned Fox and its parent company Fox Corp. for not turning over evidence in a timely fashion. It was then that Davis acknowledged that he was considering a special master. On Tuesday morning, that is exactly what happened.

"We do have — the judge appointed today, a special master, by the way, that could continue," said Weissmann during an MSNBC appearance.....
Then there's.

Dominion and Donald Trump put Fox News between a rock and a dumb place.

But quite frankly Rupert put himself in that position in his continuing life long quest to control a country through a leader of his far right choice. The sooner that Rupert's fake and lying empire becomes history the better off the whole world will be.

Wonder if the settlement(s) are going to put a crimp in that.

Die Aktuelle becomes a fake news outlet.

An “exclusive interview” with stricken F1 icon Michael Schumacher in a major magazine is not what it seemed and it’s left people seething.

Fans of Michael Schumacher’s have been left fuming after a German magazine promoted an “exclusive interview” with the star.

The latest cover of Die Aktuelle sparked outrage among the F1 icon’s fans as it claimed to feature Schumacher’s first interview since his horror ski crash in 2013.

The magazine, dated April 15, 2023, featured a smiling Schumacher on the cover, reports The Sun.

It was later revealed that the disturbing “interview” was fake: the former driver’s supposed quotes were made through an artificial intelligence program.

The legend’s fans slammed the despicable front cover and branded it “tasteless” and “stupid”.....
Absolutely sick.

Chuckle, chuckle.

Mike Lindell ordered to pay $5m to man who debunked data used to push big lie

Mike Lindell must make good on a promise and pay $5m to a software expert who debunked data the conspiracy theorist touted in advancing Donald Trump’s lie that his 2020 election defeat was the result of voting fraud, an arbitration panel decided.
In its decision, the panel said: “The data Lindell LLC provided, and represented reflected information from the November 2020 election, unequivocally did not reflect November 2020 election data.”
...
He announced his “Prove Mike Wrong Challenge” at a “cyber symposium” in South Dakota in 2021, saying he would give $5m to anyone who could disprove what he claimed was genuine election data he had obtained.
...
On Wednesday, a panel of the American Arbitration Association ruled in a dispute between Lindell and Robert Zeidman, an expert who took up the challenge.
Based on its analysis, the panel said, “Mr Zeidman performed under the contract … Failure to pay Mr Zeidman the $5m prized was a breach of the contract, entitling him to recover.”

In the Reuters piece on Lachlan, they say "that Murdoch would pay Private Media's costs".

"Mr Murdoch ... does not wish to further enable Crikey's use of the court to litigate a case from another jurisdiction that has already been settled, and facilitate a marketing campaign designed to attract subscribers and boost their profits," the lawyer, John Churchill, said in a statement.

A lawyer for Private Media, Michael Bradley, said Murdoch had discontinued his Federal Court claim without warning and that Murdoch would pay Private Media's costs. He declined to say how much those costs were.

Smartmatic sets its terms for Fox.

Smartmatic reveals what it will take for it to settle with Fox News after Dominion payout.

Smartmatic has revealed what it would take for the voting systems company to settle its own defamation lawsuit with Fox News – following the right-wing network’s landmark agreement with Dominion Voting Systems this week.

The company’s lawyer said on Thursday that Smartmatic plans to have its day in court to get “the vindication of a jury verdict in their favour” over the 2020 election lies it claims Fox News pushed on its network.

However, a settlement could be in the cards – but only if Fox News makes a “full retraction” and “apology” and pays out more than the $787m settlement it has agreed to pay Dominion, according to Smartmatic.....
Bleed sleazy Rupert for all he's worth I reckon.

In the aftermath of Fox admitting that it lied a columnist reckons that 'Loose-cannon' hosts will likely have to tone their rhetoric or go home in aftermath of Dominion settlement.
