Graham, Thank you for the updates. Good to hear everything is going better than you expected and the treatments are soon over.

Big shout-out to your wife for having to put up with your sense of humor, however punny or raw it might be at times.

Hi Everyone.

The Good news is that I've now finished my treatment, Just a final case review with the Oncologist in 4 to 6 weeks time (with blood tests) to confirm it's all done!

YAY!

I am so grateful to the NHS staff for the kind and supportive way they have dealt with Mr Grumpy - me

I'm now in the run-down from the treatment while my body repairs the damage, soreness, looseness (I'll skip more details now), and slight nausea.

Punninstry is still present and functioning, and bad-taste jokes are still present also.

I must thank you all for the helping comments, prayers, and good wishes, they have all made a huge difference.
I hope my few comments might help anyone in a similar position, and I'm happy to chat with others about my experiences and theirs if it could help.
Happy Crunching,

Graham

Does this news foretell a reduction in gaseous emissions?
We can live with the bad puns, jokes etc., but the gas emissions? Well safe to say we can pass on that.....

So the “Cover Bomber” is going away. And your gas mileage is getting less every day. So you will have to fire your wife from the extra “jobs” she has been doing. And she is thinking “HELL YEAH”. And no more extra concerts at the Thunder Mug. And your plumber will say I don’t need to Roto-rooter you for a long while now. Back to normal for you. And stay well.

Just remembered a fan dub of Star Trek. Even they can’t get away without passing a little gas… Alright a lot of flatulence in Leathal Atmosphere.

The latest update to this saga.

Just when I thought all was well...

My latest check-up (about 1 month ago led to a new MRI scan, then to a visit to a surgeon, who booked me in for a Biopsy as there was "Something that he and the Oncologist didn't feel happy about".

This Biopsy made them more concerned, and they gave me a PET-CT scan which happened last week. Today I received a call from one of the Oncology nurses to say that they confirmed that the same cancer was back, but that it hadn't spread, and they intended to treat it just with surgery for now, Also that I'd be contacted to arrange meetings to decide the best way forward, and to schedule the surgery etc.

I'm sorry if this sounds like I'm trying to grab sympathy, but, in this case, I'm trying to keep people informed of progress, If people don't wish to hear more, then just skip this thread. Venting does help me.
Happy Crunching,

Graham

Oh, darn!
Graham, thanks for the update.

Not the time of year you would like to receive news like this, not that it would be any better any other time.

Sending lots of good thoughts and best wishes your way.

Time for a rematch. Well time to put the gloves back on and step back into the ring. May it be a TOTAL TKO for your problem and no chance for a challenge return.
May you have a safe victory over this.

After all you've been through to be followed by this latest news you deserve some sympathy - I hope your loved ones give you a big hug.
And of course I hope that the operation goes well, that the surgeon's hand is steady and he is able to remove all that needs to be removed, and you get better soon.
