. . Hi folks,

. . I find it sad how the chat has died on S@H since the start of hibernation. Initially there was a great deal of conjecture, now there is just the silence of indifference (or so it seems) :(

There is a life still in these remnants ;) :D

BTW, I came to interesting question - did anyone attempt to run VM on Android phone?
I found BOCH port for android it even comes with 4 guest VM OSes. I downloaded one (failed to download other so far) but get only black screen and IPS count changing. OS prompt (it's some Linux flavour) misses and no signs of normal OS boot sequence reported.
W/O guest OS image attached it shows quite normal BIOS message about missing boot device, but...

Maybe anybody attempted virtual machine on android (android host) with more success?

. . Hi Raistmer, it's good to see you here.

. . My phone is old and low end even for its age, so I have not even tried to run crunching on it. I doubt it would be useful to run a VM of any form.

The way we have spread out is like a family when it loses its central attractor while the children are adolescents. The children separate and are blown to the Wind.

One family I know of ended up in NYC, PA, NE, and KS. They had been living in KS for a couple of years when their parents died in a car accident.

Thanks.

It seems that Win 10x64 is having issues with WCG as the errors are mainly Win 10 with several Win 8.1. Was surprised to see some with Linux 4.4.0-62-generic.
Not really bothered about the losses on MIP as the tasks are mainly a few hours at most but ARP. :-(

@Tom M the 01's on ARP are not resends but part of the quorum /replication of 2.

Thanks again. I find it interesting & very helpful regardless whether or not one is a newbie or expert.
Sadly had another pending not validated yet It seems that 4.4.0 is problematic, this time 4.4.0-87-generic.

Using both Windows 10 and SuSE Linux on WCG I was awarded two gold badges, three silver badges and three bronze badges. I dedicate one Windows 10 PC to WCG and Rosetta@home, plus a Linux laptop and a Linux Virtual Machine with SuSE Tumbleweed to both. My second Windows 10 PC is running Physics tasks from Einstein@home and LHC@home. But I still miss the SETI@home message boards.

"Just" a matter of design. And deciding if they want to re-use the way tasks are being created. Some cpu designs depend heavily on a database-type approach and so can't easily gain much from the parallel processing that gpu's represent. If a CPU task is completely discrete (not needing to access data outside of the task downloaded) it should be possible to convert it to gpu processing.
