Well folks, i wondered every time as my cpu usage was bad. Now try this:

It's set for Ryzen 2700X

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management]
"SecondLevelDataCache"=dword:00001000
"ThirdLevelDataCache"=dword:00004000

But on a i5-IvyBridge it's [for example]:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management]
"SecondLevelDataCache"=dword:00000400
"ThirdLevelDataCache"=dword:00001800

Decimal values have to be transformed into HEX values.

See Ya !

I see your computer hasn't connected with Seti in more than a month. How is it doing?

Seti (alt) still 15 minutes , approximately 1h20m (overall) ~ 4800 seconds . Some comparsion systems are online ?

SETI@home v8 v8.08 (alt) windows_x86_64 ~ 2 bit guppi

For real : running-time at 4,539.63 seconds and cpu-time at 4,437.11 seconds.

75% cpus are working , only 3 cores. at 3.5 ghz

Ok it's 32-bits and slower.

2nd wu
SETI@home v8 v8.00 windows_intelx86 ~ 2 bit guppi

For real : running-time at 5,498.55 seconds and cpu-time at 5,405.45 seconds.

75% cpus are working , only 3 cores. at 3.5 ghz

3rd wu
SETI@home v8 v8.00 windows_intelx86 ~ 2 bit guppi

For real : running-time at 5,502.35 seconds and cpu-time at 5,409.17 seconds.

75% cpus are working , only 3 cores. at 3.5 ghz

Well after all this, no insane cliffhanger at all, so disappointing.
Tomorrow i will force those SSE 2/3 settings, maybe an advance !?
I'll see.

If I am reading the results right, you are getting respectable cpu crunching times on the two computers that have had time to crunch. One of them has a radeon card that you could crunch with.
Have to wait a bit longer on the 3rd machine.

Off to a GREAT start!

In general you get more "bang for the buck" from crunching on a gpu. I suppose you could move your video card(s) to your fastest cpu cruncher and drop the other two offline? That "should" help with the electricity bill.

I have started job hunting again after being "semi-retired". My electric bill has been soaring.
