Hoping that someone will be able to tell me how to set up for GPU only. D/l the latest aptget install and it works great here on my old mining machine UBU 16.04. Problem is it keeps setting aside a job each set for the CPU and those take 1:41:00 to run where the GPU takes 7:40 to run. I had to abort 19 tasks so far. I really do not want to have to do that.

Any one out there know how? I have one more 6 head machine coming back from host I will be adding to this if it can be GPU only.

Go to you account page here.

Look for the "Preferences for this project - SETI@home preferences" click that

You will see your current settings.

Second line is "Use CPU" it will be ticked.

To change go to "Edit Preferences" at the bottom and click

Untick the "Use CPU" box, the click the "Update Preferences"

Net time the machine contacts SETI@Home the new preferences will be used and you should not get anymore CPU tasks

Thanks for the reply but no such option. I get two lines at the top one is percentage of cpu's and the next is percentage of cpu time. At a loss here on this one. Again I am not using Windows but Linux version. I did give the command "boinc" and it stated couldn't find cc_xxxx.xml and then went on to run with defaults settings. Is there a place I can find the setup for this file and where should it be?

Sorry perhaps my explanation was a bit sparse

You need to go to you account page here on the website.

As far as I am aware it is the same for linux, but only running Windows I am not sure.

Under your account you should see a section "Preferences"

If you click the "SETI@Home preferences" link it will take you here

Where you can see the CPU box and the "Edit Preferences" link.

Bernie's instructions will work for Unix/Linux - your web account page is "operating system independent".

Just in case you can't find the page the link is exactly same for everyone https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/home.php
Your computer passes data to the website to identify you, so you will get your page automagically.

Thanks to both of you. Yes it is done and CPU now is quiet. It's only a Celeron version I think so don't want to beat up on it. Have two idle coin machines at the moment so will put them on here. Each has 6 GTX1060 cards. Does a task in 7.5 minutes so will help out well.
