Gary I think you may very well be correct if a blue wave occurs this November but that will trivial compared to higher interest rates to counter the inevitable inflation. The massive budget deficit cased by the republican tax cuts and huge spending programs will trigger the worst inflation since the early 1980's. Does any remember 18% home mortgages?

Remember the WIN account, Whip Inflation Now?

Not Reaganomics but the inflation caused by paying for the unfunded Vietnam war with inflation and the Feds mandate to control the inflation.

The worker if lucky got a pay rise slightly higher than inflation and slight benefit from the tax cuts, but health insurance went up wiping out those gains.

So can the American worker afford higher mortgage payments?

Since the end of the great recession of 2008 consumer debt has also risen dramatically, so the short answer to your question is many can't.

US housing market is beginning to show signs of coming to the end of the cycle and the huge bubble is getting ready to pop. Remember the Republicans never allowed the Democrats to fix what caused the last recession. It will happen again and this time with the added bonus of being in the middle of a trade war and massive interest rate hikes and unchecked inflation. It is going to make the great depression look tame by comparison. Watch that option arm and leg loan hit 90% interest! Watch inflation hit Zimbabwe levels.

Oh and speaking of China, if they don't have profits, they can't pump up the US real estate economy any more, it goes over the cliff.

It is fantastic to be a GOPnik!

Gary, IMO that's a bit hyperbolic but you do have the right idea.

The Discount Store is in much trouble. Hopefully, for the Chinese people, their Leadership retreats from their stupid arrogance.

I am sure the non Chinese World can successfully exist. As it did before China's 19th century type of Capitalism of the last few years.
Substitute "U.S." for "Chinese" and you get the same thing. ;-)

It's official, China is winning the trade war, China's trade surplus with US grows to new record in August, adding fuel to trade war fire.

And for those who don't understand world economics then maybe this will help you understand why the US Trade Deficit With China and Why It's So High, but for some here it maybe to complicated for their aging grey cells to handle.

If you don't see the economic and military expansion of Capitalist China, coupled with a Ruling Class Dictatorship as alarming and must be stopped...
The world has seen how Capitalist America has ruined the world & now woken up the fact that America is getting more impotent by the day. Rather than concentrate on Chinese & Russian masters, shouldn't you & many that think like you be doing their best to prevent that from happening?

Your immigrant ancestors murdered all the natives of that land & all for greed. Sad when one who ends on the back foot has to rely on nationalism to make a point - & a very arrogant point at that.

You've been running down other nationalities for years yet FORGET one important FACT. Be it North or South America, you are not Americans but the result of European & Asian immigration. So when you attack one European nationality, you are In fact attacking all. Wake up & realise that you are no different than anybody else on this planet who all share the same final destination.

For one of your wealth of knowledge & experience to forgot that fact says much.

Yes, we are all the same.

Now back to the Topic and how do we stop, or at least slowdown. The Economic and Military Expansion of China. A 19th century type Capitalist Economy, coupled with a Ruling Class Dictatorship.
So why the need to stop them?

But now have reverted to form :(
Ah yes - form. Well lets take a look at form at a "basic" trading level.

Not only has there been a Federal v State subsidy "Get out of Jail" con. there is a one at company level.

However, the firm regards its franchisees as independent business owners.

Not a very good way to ensure regular trading, wouldn't you think? The franchises do bear the Name & Logo of the company does it not?

Is America now becoming the MacDonald's of the International Market?
