NASA TO ASTRONAUT: CAN YOU REBOOT YOUR SPACE SUIT?
Spacewalk activities continue after Shane Kimbrough troubleshoots spacesuit
The reset corrected the issues with his spacesuit’s display and controls module that provides him information about the status of his spacesuit.

They have installed a 60 feet solar array. I have watched their reentry procedures, all managed by a woman astronaut, her long hairs flowing in the non-gravity environment.

Tide Is Making Laundry Detergent for the International Space Station
The resulting solution comes in the form of Tide pens and wipes, which can remove odors and stains from clothing without requiring washing machines or any interference with the water systems

From her work on the Mercury 13 project to today's Blue Origin flight and every thing in between, she is a true Pioneer!
Texas woman hoped she’d go to space in 1960s. Now in her 80s, she’s finally done it
Wally Funk cheered as she defied gravity, floating up out of her seat and putting her hand above her head so she didn’t crash into the ceiling. At 82 years old, Funk has just become the oldest person to venture into low Earth orbit.

... “I felt so charged,” Funk said at a livestreamed news conference following the launch. “I was just a normal, normal person going up into space and that’s all I wanted to feel.”

OOooooooops!

'Glitches' like that ain't supposed to happen on flight equipment!!

Hope the Control Moment Gyros ('Inertial Dampers') survived getting brutally overloaded!!!

The Boeing Starliner spacecraft launch is now scheduled on August 3. Meanwhile an Ariane 5 rocket has put in orbit an Eutelsat communication satellite and a Brazilian communication satellite.

And that was quite a spin!

See: The International Space Station's Accidental Spin Visualized

I've read elsewhere that Nauka only stopped thrusting when finally having burnt through its fuel to exhaustion to empty about 500kg of propellant...

I'm very sure that wasn't part of the intended flight plan.

Cue lots of jokes about stealing the flight software from Boeing...

Indeed, fly safe folks!

Thanks for that.

Indeed so:

Shame that the greedy sore losers have been able to delay development for a few months while their lawyers were throwing their glib arguments out of their respective prams...

So far, is SpaceX the only way to go?!!!

Fantastic work on a planet-leading design!

Really! 29 BIG rocket engines installed in one day!!

Is this for a "Kwik-Fit car tyres swap shop", or is this really Rocket Science in action?!!! Tremendous stuff!

Way to go!!

Spectacular! Unprecedented!! But...

SpaceX installed 29 Raptor engines on a Super Heavy rocket last night
wrote:
... Like, seriously unprecedented.

On Sunday, SpaceX finished stacking what it is calling "Booster 4," the first of its Super Heavy rocket boosters expected to take flight. This is a massive, single-core rocket that is approximately 70 meters tall, with a diameter of 9 meters. It has a thrust approximately double that of the Saturn V rocket that launched NASA astronauts to the Moon.

Then, overnight, something remarkable happened. Technicians and engineers at the SpaceX build facility near Boca Chica Beach attached 29 Raptor rocket engines to the rocket. Twenty-nine engines. Each with intricate plumbing lines and connections. This is the number of engines that Super Heavy will fly with for initial flight tests, although the final configuration is likely to have 33 engines.

I'm not really sure what to write or say about all this, because typically in the rocket business it takes a few days to install a single engine.

After some initial checkouts in the assembly area, Booster 4 will roll to the launch site a couple of kilometers down the road. This may happen as early as Tuesday...

Fantastic stuff!!!

But can the FAA catch up with reality to avoid holding back the Earth's rotation and so avoid spoiling the celebrations?...

Regarding those back flips and the thrusters Nauka blip...

This looks to be worryingly rather questionable...

Nauka module’s near miss raises concerns about future of space station
"Everything was going well, but there was a human factor." ...

... These combined actions prevented the station from tumbling too violently until Nauka exhausted its primary fuel supply...

Or is it that Boeing is too late feeling some heat and pressure?...

Very good they're testing and fixing anything unexpected.

Very bad this has only now been found whilst on a fully fueled rocket just before launch!
