My seems the middle class just got a huge tax increase ... double the amount they were supposed to get from the the tax cut and jobs act ... Starting about 19:00 on the May 31 episode https://omny.fm/shows/knx-in-depth/playlists/podcast/embed?style=artwork&share=1&selectedClip=fe74bb8c-3f7a-4291-a0e8-aa5e016b0742 Interview with Gary Clyde Hufbauer from the Peterson Institute for International Economics. Funny, I thought GOPers were for tax cuts and not MASSIVE tax increases? So when is the GOP going to throw Rump out? |

Gary that works out to be a transfer of wealth from the middle class to corporations, what's not to like? |

Gary that works out to be a transfer of wealth from the middle class to corporations, what's not to like? No, not to corporations, a tariff is a tax so it goes to the swamp! (Corporations have to pre-pay this tax on their raw materials. They get it back later if they sell their goods. If they raise prices more than the amount of the tariff (tax) then that is just a normal everyday price increase to feather-bed their trophy wives.) The Tariff goes to fund the swamp. |

Gary that works out to be a transfer of wealth from the middle class to corporations, what's not to like? But the US companies, because of the increases in the customer price for imported goods, can also raise prices, albeit at a rate lower than the imposed tariff. This price increase goes straight to the owners, directors and shareholders with no increase in costs, other than an advertising campaign to show their prices for US goods are lower than the imported products. |

The People will decide what will "establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity". Will you cite the source of that very dangerous and inflammatory quote? |

230 years ago "we the people" meant "we the 1/3 of the population that gets to vote" (maybe even less) |

LOL. I was going to go with "plantation owners" but was too lazy to make it fit into a coherent sentence :P |

Oh you meant the actual people to sign it. I was talking about who gets to vote. (and to be fair what I really should have said was "property owners") |

Oh you meant the actual people to sign it. I was talking about who gets to vote. And that would probably be a figure close to 10% of the population. Had to be over 21, a male freeholder, not be a slave or a member of certain religions. |

Oh you meant the actual people to sign it. I was talking about who gets to vote. They were the only ones with a vote that day. It was still possible to be rich and be a renter by making or processing things. You did not have to own people - property - to be rich. And I did mean everyone who would be allowed to vote, just using them as an example that ownership of land and farming was not the only method of being rich at that time. Don't forget poll taxes were allowed then and you had to be rich to afford them. |

And he also acknowledge the Special Day of Prayer for the President last Sunday announced by Franklin Graham. I also hope thousands of pastors across the nation will take a moment in their service this Sunday to pray for the President with their congregations. The Bible tells us, “The prayer of a righteous person has great power …†(James 5:16). I believe there is power in prayer!Oh Geez:) |

I'd say that the Trump organisation fails to understand what the word "management" means. It means make sure everything is completed on time, including paying taxes. |

There are more concerns.Yes. Like Donald Trump is a con man. Just as his father Fred and his grandfather Friedrich. |
