If you have a preview copy of the fix, I can toss that in at the same time - you have my email.

E-mail sent, have fun :)

Got it. A bit busy prepping myself for the outage, will start the test run once that gets under way. I'll send you the results so far when I get down to the test machine.

Good work. I'd suggest it would be wise to run the whole scenario past Eric again, reminding him of those tweets, before coming to a final release decision. (Eric is prepping up for Parkes data - expect an announcement on Wednesday - and keeps talking about a SETI v10)...

And a fix for the "VSYSCALL deprecated - s@h client recompile needed" for the Linux clients?... ;-)

(That should be the case automatically if a recent compiler and glibc are being used.)

Keep searchin',

Good work. I'd suggest it would be wise to run the whole scenario past Eric again, reminding him of those tweets, before coming to a final release decision.
Jason was also hoping that Eric would "...examine the stock CPU code and say 'That's not what was intended', or say 'that's correct'." (See Message 1875435.) I didn't get the sense that those brief, tweeted responses really addressed that question, but perhaps there's something between the lines there that I didn't follow.

Oh, and one of the other points that Jason raised in the same post was this:
In terms of purpose, the 'best' is used for Screensaver display, so it would entirely make sense to me if the intent is to choose the most 'Gaussian-ey' looking signal to display, whether reportable or not (i.e . marketing).
Nothing like having marketing running the show! ;^)
