Science Reveals that Pizza Increases Productivity. I might go and get some more pizza making ingredients tomorrow as I do need to increase my productivity. ;-)

Cheers.

Well today for the first time in a very long time I do not own a car and have no plans to get one.

As I either walk or use my OAP free pass on busses, tram, trains and the tube, the car was becoming redundant.

Probably the only thing I use it for was the weekly shop, but as they all do online ordering and doorstep delivery I will use that .

If I ever really need a car we now have "car clubs" with several locations in Croydon so that is always an option.

The real problem was parking, it cost around £70 a month to park here now.

"car clubs"

What is that?

For a small fee you join the club. You get a "pass card". The club has basically cars for hire but by the hour if needed or by the day. The cars are parked at various locations around towns.

Either via computer or an app on a smartphone you can request to hire a car. You get the location and ID of the car and your pass card will unlock the car, there is a reader attached to the inside of the windscreen and you hold you card up to it.

Use the car and return it to the same spot, or another if you arrange it that way.

The club has your details and bill you direct.

So you get the use of a car as and when you want. I haven't joined one yet but will probably try it out next week .

That sounds a good idea Bernie, particularly for people in your situation who only need a car for a few hours moth (or a year).

There's something similar to that around town, here, only it's just for bicycle usage.

They say sailors have two days of elation.
The day they buy their boat and the day they sell their boat.

Don't want to think of what they might want to pierce next....
Millennials Replacing Engagement Rings With Diamonds Embedded In Their Fingers

There’s a new trend in engagement rings.

Instead of a diamond ring around your finger, a diamond is embedded IN your finger, CBS2’s Cindy Hsu reported.

“We notice lately a lot of people coming looking for that,” Sam Abbas, who owns NYC Ink Studio in the West Village, told Hsu.

Apparently, some millennials are ditching the usual engagement ring and instead piercing their ring fingers.
