Donald Trump's state visit to Britain put on hold US president told Theresa May he did not want trip to go ahead if there were large-scale public protests https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jun/11/donald-trump-state-visit-to-britain-put-on-hold Very 'cowardly!' using Trump's own words only 6 hours ago! What would he expect? Cheering crowd with flowers in their hands? |

Just expecting that 'The Mob'. Whether you agree or not with their 'message'. Does not control a Country. 'The Mob'? Who are they in Britain? Perhaps you mean Football hooligans. But they don't know who Trump is:) Or do they? Here we have Black Army. Supporting "Gnaget" going to Friends Arena in Solna. For some reason I believe that they like Trump! |

For all I care you can have whatever voting system you like. Usually works pretty well anyway. But to us Europeans it's very odd that some states have more votes than others in the Electoral College. I know it's for historical reasons, but now? Are you afraid of another Civil War? |

Stopping a State Visit. Let's say to the United States. With a threat of... What threat? It's Trump who doesn't want to come! What a crybaby! |

There is a process that must be followed to change our Constitution. Yep, a liberal's dream, a constitutional convention. The constitution is silent on the rules, in fact it doesn't even say who gets how many representatives or who can set the rules. 200+ years ago the representation was proportional and they set their own rules would it be today? It doesn't have to follow house seats, it could be directly proportional stripping small states of their over proportionality in congress. Can you imagine Blue states with even more power than today?! You better because it would likely happen. If congress tries to do anything other than set date, time and place of opening, SCOTUS is likely to disagree and declare it is up to the convention to adopt their own rules. The process will be that who shows up will have to agree on the parliamentary rules. (Roberts Rules will likely be the only available thing until they write their own rules) Those votes will be by everyone as one vote per person. Then once that is done a credentials committee can get to work and toss riff raff that doesn't belong and the decisions made about how many votes each state gets. You can be sure it will not be one vote per state! Then the proposals hit the fan and get sent to committees. Committees report back. The fan is turned from low to extra high. A few good things will come out, some amendments made to get other stuff out, and a couple of really bad ideas too. Then it is sine die. Congress gets the mess and has to make one decision on each, legislature or state convention. They will pick legislature in the vain hope they get to keep their job. Now Soros and Koch hit the airwaves and billions are wasted on electrons. Finally the results are read into the Senate Journal and Amerika is screwed. SCOTUS goes to work and the US code gets lighter. |

Sorry for this third post. But I had to post this Fact. Bit of smoke and mirrors there. That was the year Ross Perot got nearly 19%. So the vote between the two main parties was out of 81%. So effectively Clinton got 53% of the votes that counted towards the electoral college. |

Now you're making things up again. I never even implied that Perot's supporters would vote Democrat. I said that if only 81% of votes went to the two main parties then B. Clinton won 53% of them. |

"convention of states" (NOTICE: not a "constitutional convention"--there is a difference) resolution.Says who? Translation: cite the section(s) in the Constitution where that difference is described. If it happens there will be no way to control it; it will do what it wants with the rules it decides for itself. |

If you are one of those core 45 supporters, who voted for more jobs etc. because yours had been stolen. It might be a good idea to look closer to home, Trump is not destiny. Here’s what is. Work: The main trend was the gradual entrance of millions of women into the job market. In 2015, 74 percent of prime-working-age women (25 to 54) were in the labor force, up from 35 percent in 1948. However, there were social costs. There was more “reliance on markets for child care,†and “community-based†volunteer work suffered. |

D.C. and Maryland sue President Trump, alleging breach of constitutional oath As I posted prior to the election the emoluments clause would come up. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-lawsuit-idUSKBN1930AL |
