Hello,

there will be a week-long challenge (A), already 14 teams signed up.

I: WU availability:

Can the SETI admins please check if there will be enough WUs available for the challenge time ?
(Or mods: can you contact the admin with this or move my post to an appropriate section? Merci)

II. BOINC users: please participate
- 1. tell your teamfounder to join the challenge on boincstats
- 2. the users just have to crunch the WUs in that time period. nothing more

"heat your home"?

That's what my machines do in the winter.

1 more machine and it'll be complete computer heating except the -5 and below Celsius days.

How does the challenge tell if the team members actually heated their homes with only computers?

I have no electrical ovens in my house, and use two heatpumps and a nice fireplace for heating. I only run seti in the winter half and the computer heats the room and surroundings. I do not have sufficent cooling for the second GPU (they will be too narrow) but on extra cold days I can open the cabinet and put the extra GPU in. My power amplifiers is a 250W monster that works as a oven in the livingroom.

Living far north one does not pay for cooling but heating... (electricity is anyway quite cheap here).

A electric oven is the ultimate waste of high energy, nice to do something useful on the way instead.

The same.
Not too much of a challenge when all membes of every team are entered by default.
If each and every team member had to get off their asrse and register, THAT might be a challenge then.
The GPUUG has more ACTIVE members than many teams out there.
