I believe your image is somewhat limited by perspective. |

Unfortunately many politicians have a twisted view of "reality". This US presidency selection is a perfect example how wrong it could get. |

Well, so much for constructive ideas about how to move forward through the next four years. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

If Le Pen wins in France next year these would be 5 permanent key members of the UN Security Council |

Having no idea what will happen in Europe: The problem, to me that is anyway, is that populists are gaining foothold, both in Europe and America. |

Populists? AKA: The People? I would rephrase that to: Populists? AKA: Some of The People. http://qz.com/835353/populists-around-the-world-are-gaining-ground-and-its-not-looking-good-for-the-liberals/ |

Populists are not gaining ground against Liberalism. It is against the Ideologies of Hate and Control. Really? It's obviuos to me that Populists are control maniacs. |

Ffing... Your grasp of "mirroring" seems limited, sir. :-) I am only attacking hateful Ideologies. Your post did not say that, dear boy. ;-) It laid waste to everything but your narrow strip of puritanism. IE: Nazism, Right Wing, KKK, Marxism, Left Wing, Progressivism, etc. Your post did not say that either, dear boy. ;-) And you do a disservice to many who fully understand the ideology they are pursuing when they align with such leaders. Ffing... I crossed through your post, sir, to reflect the level to which you yourself pay attention to the words of others. Subtler "mirroring" than you clearly grasp. At no point did it indicate where I am on any political spectrum, least of all yours in the USA. I expect if I did, you would need to look up the terminology after making a knee-jerk post of course. ;-) Perhaps a certain other gentleman would again fawn at your feet after doing so? Now - perhaps you could answer the young lady's questions? You have kept her waiting long enough. ;-) |

I have decided, not to quote what you wrote here before your edit, CLYDE. It did not cast you in a good light, sir. edit: what has Australia got to do with this? It is a simple matter of following links back to your original post in another thread, which is where your answer belongs. Not here addressed to me. As to the topic of this thread, I am looking into where a donation will be of most use to those outside America affected by events within. Climate refugees are just one. |

Please do Exposing something you thought better of after reflection, was not my intention, Sir. Highlighting the speed at which you post kneejerk reactions, was. I cut my teeth on investigative journalism. I have moved on since then, but old habits die hard. Indulge me :-) @ Just Smokey being true to type. This version is false. Sources and a chronology rewind (FYI): tami : Message 1830080 - Posted: 12 Nov 2016, 16:24:14 UTC - in response to Message 1830065 CLYDE : Message 1830065 - Posted: 12 Nov 2016, 14:34:36 UTC - in response to Message 1830061 Last modified: 12 Nov 2016, 14:40:02 UTC Smoke me a kipper: Message 1830064 - Posted: 12 Nov 2016, 14:33:45 UTC - in response to Message 1830061 JaundicedEye: Message 1830061 - Posted: 12 Nov 2016, 14:03:42 UTC Smoke me a kipper: Message 1830060 - Posted: 12 Nov 2016, 13:59:26 UTC - in response to Message 1830050 JaundicedEye: Message 1830050 - Posted: 12 Nov 2016, 11:46:57 UTC Your edited post raised the questions, CLYDE. The timestamps indicate more than an hour afterward. Appending "Was it incorrect?" at the end of a quote, as you have, on its debut - gives the appearance of dishonesty. I would have expected a former policeman and college lecturer to be more meticulous. Ffing... I paid a brief visit to the café, and posted my condolences on the loss of someone who was an asset - to these boards, and others. Edit: How's the weather in Gibraltar? I have no idea, sir. I am away on business, as my initial comment might have indicated. If it is that important to you, google it. I rarely discuss weather with my wife, unless it affects upcoming plans. They are finalising (hopefully) the adoption of my sister-in-law's young children, alongside supporting them through the first anniversary, of their mother's death in December, therefore the weather they are experiencing on the Rock is unlikely to come up when we next communicate with one another. My life is not spent waiting to insult others on internet fora, sir. There is little to occupy oneself with in transit lounges. Were that otherwise, I would not be coming across your posts as I am. When my RAC picks up, then you may assume I am home, which is when I'll be better able to answer your question, if I have the time. It is cloudy and comfortably cool in Tokyo if that will suffice. edit: "Boy" the way you interpret its use - is an insult worldwide. It is why I did not use it that way. |

My wife and I have experienced enormous difficulty in keeping our orphaned nephew and nieces with us, solely due to their nationality. I understand Trump's deportation plans will cause similar problems. If there is an NGO able to offer assistance to those likely to be affected, let me know. I will gladly donate to it. |

It may be a bit before it is urgently needed but MALDEF might be another place who will need funding to offset Trump. <ed>found some lists but some are location specific http://www.portlandmercury.com/blogtown/2016/11/14/18694088/resist-trump-by-supporting-these-crucial-organizations http://www.thestranger.com/slog/2016/11/11/24687578/resist-trump-by-supporting-these-crucial-organizations http://www.miunited.org/category/press-release/ list at the end of the 11/14 press release. http://jezebel.com/a-list-of-pro-women-pro-immigrant-pro-earth-anti-big-1788752078 http://www.publiceye.org/research/directories/immig_grp_defend.html |

In this thread, please post your suggestions for how to advance a progressive agenda. - Have the courage to utter, "the king has no clothes". - If you are progressive then back someone who is ALSO progressive The kindest way I can describe Hillary is a neoliberal AND neoconservative Wall-Street groupie not afraid to be seen and photographed with: Fake progressives Wannabe progressives Real progressives ...all while selling the working/middle class down the river in a delusional attempt to win over the republican vote. Well that's what the facts and her actions are saying anyway. - - - - - - - - I'm seeing quite a few progressive minds independently come to a consensus on a few players: Aside from the obvious Sanders & Warren, two more names keep popping up which I've never heard 'till very recently: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulsi_Gabbard https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nina_Turner - - - - - - - - The Dems face a tough choice: - Back a 2020 candidate like Michelle O or Tim K and strand the American public with 8 years of Trump for the sole purpose of not pissing off their donors or - Fight fire with fire and back a progressive populist in exchange for a real shot at winning the election |

As agreed in advance by both sides, Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with US President-elect Donald Trump. http://en.kremlin.ru/events/president/news/53255 |

What course of action is open to the working class when they finally realise that Trumps economic measures will do nothing for them? |
