Old news gary . It's been known for a while about China's property market. However people can't assume that what has happened in the west will happen in China as it is still a communist country . The recent stock market problem they had well they did what the west would not . They froze and limited what and how much of a stock you could trade Also you will find the very same real estate Tycoons also own expensive property outside of China they will be able to sell if things got bad and I think the China gov would make them sell it to pay loans . I would not worry about China's economics because of the communism . |

I would not worry about China's economics because of the communism . Too big, er controlled, to fail, huh? I think people are beginning to worry about China's sovereign debt defaulting. What would such a default do to the US markets, when China has to sell all its T-bills on a single day? |

Too big, er controlled, to fail, huh? Not to big to fail gary .However communism means they will do what ever it takes ergo South China sea would be a good circuit breaker for any financial problem . Nothing as good for economics than a war Plus I understand you Americans owe china 2 trillion so I think they might just call that loan in if there's any trouble . Now if you lot can't pay up when they ask for it that may just stuff the world finical system and put us all in trouble if you default on the loan . |

Too big, er controlled, to fail, huh? Clyde is correct Glenn. Sovereign debt. Much of it is in short term notes, which China's central bank renews and takes the interest payment home. That Sovereign debt is the funds for the Social Security retirement accounts of every person in the USA. The powers in the USA will not allow it to go away. They would go into technical default first, if they can't find others willing to purchase loans. As of today there are more people willing to loan their money to the USA than the USA is offering. One reason interest rates are near zero. However if China were to withdraw at the maximum rate, that would cause issues - global meltdown issues. China knows it too. Glenn, you can even get in on the action. |

But I expect The USA, which does control the 'means of its wealth'. Will assist. So the whole world economy will collapse but America wont wake up Clyde . Funny you Yanks thought the same thing about Russia and tell yourself that you won the Cold war . Both are false , just because the berlin wall came down and Germany was finally united does not mean you won the cold war . Forgot about what Putin has been able to do , Ukraine for 1 , Syria for 2 a collapsed country can't do those things . Also you Americans need to understand your not the biggest player in the financial word anymore and your limited buy your laws . China won't . Also China learnt the mistakes of Russia and now they are as capitalist as the rest of us so I say to you never underestimate China . Asians on average score 4 points higher than Europeans or Americans on IQ tests . Plus remember that China has invented many things we use these days like rockets , gun powder hell they even had the largest ships and navy in the world over 500 years ago. China is not a dumb country and you will lose if you underestimate what they will and can do . We lost the world 30 years ago to China when you Americans let greedy forces make policy and engaged China and started to trade with them now your subservient to them as most of the world is now. Your Greed and arrogance has lead to this situation and all because you believe that Capitalism is the answer to everything . Uncontrolled Capitalism does not work and leads to all the worst things humans do . Control the greed first and then Capitalism mite just work better than it does today . Boom then Bust boom then bust boom and then bust . there has to be a better way than that . wealth is a privilege not a right |

BTW: The Necessary Item (guess which one), can be controlled by the Brute Force of the American Military, if necessary to secure from its enemies. uranium . China is our friend so if you start a war with china you may just find us not able to help you seeing as your gona make us pay for our defence ( not that we are not already paying more than our share and bailing you lot out all the dam time) You would not win a war of attrition and a nuclear war there are no winners Understand Clyde And it was one of your own Generals , Mcarther I think that said Germany will never win the war they can't win a war of attrition simply because they just don't have the population maybe you should pay more attention to Syria . Why was ISIS always going to lose ??? read above |

And setting us up to take the blame for that bombing of the aid help in Syria is not looked on to well down here in fact a lot of people are very peed off about it . Keep that sort of crap up and we will pull our aircraft out and leave you to fix the dam mess you started |

Also if your talking oil . you realy do live in a dream world don't you . Guess what on the bottom of the south china sea and there is lots of it . And then there is Russia they can supply China with oil china is not as dependant on other country's for raw materials as you may think . Plus you are aware that they have been stockpiling raw materials for a long time . They don't use 400,000,000 tons of Iron ore each year so why are they buying so much if there not using it all mmmmmmm and it not just iron ore |

I have no idea Clyde You need oil, iron ore , copper , zinc, magnesium ,lead ,rubber , coke ,Lime stone ,coal to make a basic car so why don't you tell us what it is because the only thing you have but the rest of the world does not is natural helium from 1 mine I believe everything else can be got from outside the U.S.A You have your helium and we have Opal not that Opal is good for anything other than jewelry |

I have no idea Clyde That's a lot more than three guesses. I'm pretty sure I know what Clyde was thinking and it is hinted at in your list. The rest of your list is available in the USA. However both of you have missed some of the more exotic trace items that are used today that aren't in a model T. Those items go into the electronics. Spock would be my obtuse hint. |

Rubber it is then witch was going to be my 3rd guess . Doesn't Rubber come from trees And if it is Rubber your talking about Clyde then maybe you need to read this as natural rubber is not made in your country and I don't think your going to be able to protect the source if you go to war against CHINA From wiki Close to 28 million tons of rubber were produced in 2013, of which approximately 44% was natural. Since the bulk of the rubber produced is of the synthetic variety, which is derived from petroleum, the price of natural rubber is determined, to a large extent, by the prevailing global price of crude oil.[15][16][17] Today, Asia is the main source of natural rubber, accounting for about 94% of output in 2005. The three largest producing countries, Thailand, Indonesia (2.4 million tons)[18] and Malaysia, together account for around 72% of all natural rubber production.Natural rubber is not cultivated widely in its native continent of South America due to the existence of South American leaf blight, and other natural predators of the rubber tree. Good luck growing it in South America then |

kapox Chemical Name: Epoxidized Soybean Oil Appearance A Liquid Application: for films, sheets, lasers, tiles, wires etc,. properties: Plasticizer and stabilizer of good heat resistance, low volatile, low migration, low extraction Soybean is grown in lots and lots and lots of country's so no problem there if we end up in a fight with China |

Soybean is grown in lots and lots and lots of country's so no problem there if we end up in a fight with China Rare earth elements for instance. They are used in computer chips, LCD screens, batteries and cell phones. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rare_earth_element |

A fight over minerals, oil, etc? What minerals aren't available, at an increased price, that we get from China rare Earths , IPhone may just cost 4 times what it does today . The good rare earths do come from China but yes we can get them from other country's like Australia or chile but China's are higher quality than what most other country's have and they also have more of them than other country's So that mite just be a problem for all the new types of tech our defence forces use these days . |
