I think it would be great for others to stand up and run for president. It's not brainwashing that makes people stick with Democrat or Republican. It's just the lack of knowledge that there are other options, and that also means fewer people try to run independently. It's a catch-22. Whereas not on the debate stage ... . Let's spread the joy of a third party candidates all around here. Unfortunate the thread for one candidate was hidden and no one has put a thread for the other 3rd party candidate. |

Let's spread the joy of a third party candidates all around here. By the math I learned there can be only one third party candidate and by the time you get to fourth fifth and sixth they cease to be electable candidates. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

I don't wish to spread discourse but, attempting to decide between two fascists pre-supposes that you may think maybe that one fascist is better than any other. I submit that in any circumstance, no fascist is better than any other. I think the damage has already been done to your system. I also think that you still have time to salvage what is left, and then make the improvements necessary to move on into the future. Your culture is worth saving, please don't delay. edit: Perhaps you could look to John Lennon... |

Just another Ross Perot, or 'Teddy' Roosevelt (1912)? So you obviously support Drumpf over Clinton correct? |

Just another Ross Perot, or 'Teddy' Roosevelt (1912)? I think we all know, no, he does not. [EDIT: if we expect Clyde to read precisely what we say and not assume words and ideas we have not put forward. then it is only fair to afford him the same respect no matter how often we may disagree.] Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

Gary Johnson is not the only one who doesn't know what Aleppo is. The aforementioned New York Times made an embarrassing mistake in its coverage of what happened with Johnson. Twice. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/aleppo-gary-johnson_us_57d1b695e4b06a74c9f38bd5 |

OOPS DJT it is 9/11 not Seven Eleven Hehe:) And DJT was talking about his home town. Well. Gary has to prepare himself more before going to an interview. Running for president requires some knowledge in foreign policies. |

Ok, Here's the thing. If you want to hear more of the same stupid crap at Presedential debates, then you just may get your wish. The Commission on Presidential Debates is a private, tax-exempt organization controlled, literally, by the Republican and Democratic parties which only represent 55% (at most) of the electorate. They wish to keep Americans in the dark about the views, opinions and issues that most voters want to hear debated. Instead, they think you would rather hear name-calling-angry-back-stabbing rhetoric and outright lies presented as debate material. Most Americans would love to hear better and long for an alternative viewpoint this year. The commission disagrees. It's their way or no way, truth and honesty be damned. The commission has set an arbitrary number of 15% in polls to warrant inclusion in the debates. The problem is that many polls, (like Fox and MSNBC polls), do not list Johnson as a choice. Pretty hard to show up in polls where there is NO choice. The commission doesn't see this as a problem and prefers to look at polls that support only their narrow viewpoint. Presidential candidate Gary Johnson and VP candidate Bill Weld are polling 25% in New Mexico, 23% in Utah, higher than 15% in 15 states, and over 10% in 42 of them as of today. The Chicago Tribune: Editorial: Let Libertarian Gary Johnson debate Clinton and Trump Johnson's ventures into double digits make him, especially, more than a fringe player. He could become the escape-hatch choice for a lot of people Nov. 8 — if he's included in the autumn presidential debates. The Richmond Times-Dispatch: EDITORIAL ENDORSEMENT: Richmond Times-Dispatch endorses Gary Johnson for president He is, in every respect, a legitimate and reasonable contender for the presidency — but only if the voters give him a fair hearing. And that can happen only if he is allowed to participate in the presidential debates that begin on Sept. 26 at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. The Los Angeles Times: Editorial: The presidential debates should include more than two candidates [Debates] shouldn't be about anointing winners by omitting competitors; they should be frank exchanges of views on a wide range of subjects exposing the candidates’ poise under pressure. The Wall Street Journal: The Libertarian Alternative Third-party presidential candidates are usually gadflies who have little impact, and that includes the nominees of the Libertarian Party over the years. But if there’s going to be an exception, this might be the year... Boston Herald: Editorial: Let Gary Johnson debate Allowing Johnson to debate on Sept. 26 would provide a valuable service to an unhappy electorate. The commission should give him a microphone. Allowing a viable "third party" candidate to debate will force the other two to at least make a comment about the issues... or maybe not. Please let pollsters and others know that you want honest issues debated rather than a mud-slinging contest. Thanks, John |

Is the MAIN reason Johnson (and Stein) do (does) not have a chance is not being able to get in the debates? Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

Is the MAIN reason Johnson (and Stein) do (does) not have a chance is not being able to get in the debates? I sincerely doubt that even if they both were in the debates they would have any chance. A more realistic question is, if neither of them were on the ballot, and you were predisposed to have voted for one of them, would you vote djt, vote hillary, or not vote at all? Call it a thought experiment. |

Is the MAIN reason Johnson (and Stein) do (does) not have a chance is not being able to get in the debates? Which, if any states, award electoral votes based on who has the majority/plurality for that district? Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

A more realistic question is, Smith & Wesson is always an option ... ;) |

Smith & Wesson is always an option ... ;) Yes. But would the "Smith & Wesson" voters come from the djt camp, hillary camp, or the "I'm voting with my gun" camp? |

Smith & Wesson is always an option ... ;) In the 'Smith & Wesson' scenario 'votes' are not exactly relevant. https://youtu.be/iY57ErBkFFE #Texit Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016. Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power. |

Is the MAIN reason Johnson (and Stein) do (does) not have a chance is not being able to get in the debates? I suspect that Sarge is a coward. Much later, after the question was asked, Sarge still avoids. Sarge would vote vote for djt, no doubt about it. Not surprised in the least. |
