Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, one of the longest-serving and most prominent leaders of so-called Islamic State (IS) has been killed in Syria, IS-affiliated media say.

Adnani was known for his calls for lone-wolf attacks in the West.
One of the group's founder members, he is also said to have masterminded attacks in Europe and elsewhere.

Are the lines becoming blurred?

You are just noticing it isn't what it was sold to you as?

No. I have a Turkish brother-in-law as well as Turkish friends here. Unfortunately, they're poles apart.

Just wondering what the US response will be as Erdogan's aims are not that different from IS.

Erdogan will do what he thinks is best for him and Turkey!
Any other concerns will not be Anatolian concerns. Putin

That would all change if the rewards were big enough.

The only problem with that is that as history shows, those that play others against each other while sitting in the middle end up paying a hefty price themselves.

Erdogan wants that Turkey should be a non-secular nation again.
Islam and the Quran should be the guideline.
Also a framework how laws should be interpreted.
What does history tell us about mixing religion and politics?

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/09/18/minnesota-mall-attacker-referenced-allah-before-stabbing-rampage-police-chief-says.html
ISIS claimed responsibility after a knife-wielding man injured eight people at a mall in central Minnesota Saturday evening, a bloody rampage during which he reportedly asked at least one victim whether they were Muslim and referenced Allah.

St. Cloud Police Chief William Blair Anderson said the suspect, whom he did not identify, was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer from another jurisdiction. All but one of the eight victims had been treated and released from a local hospital and all were expected to survive their injuries.

ISIS on Sunday morning claimed responsibility for the attack, issuing a statement via a source to its Amaq news service.

"The executor of the stabbing attacks in Minnesota yesterday was a soldier of the Islamic State and carried out the operation in response to calls to target the citizens of countries belonging to the crusader coalition," the statement said.
