We're back and uploading is painfully slow. Because you and me and a dog named Blue are all reporting and getting new WUs at once... |

Looks like Replica is 'offline' again. [As of 2 Nov 2016, 21:10:05 UTC] |

Got back from work to find a bunch of uploads not going through- a couple of retries & they managed to clear. Went to checkout what was going on & this site was down, then it was "Don't have permission to view", then it was MIA again, now it's back again. Grant Darwin NT |

Got back from work to find a bunch of uploads not going through- a couple of retries & they managed to clear. Glitched like last night for a few minutes, but seems to be back and OK now, with the exception that the SSP is reporting the "database server is not available". Interesting ... |

Haven't seen either today, but that just proves I'm lucky. EDIT: 'Just' checked, saw the "Database Service Not Available" message myself. [As of 3 Nov 2016, 3:30:04 UTC] |

Got back from work to find a bunch of uploads not going through- a couple of retries & they managed to clear. Could have been the same for me- it was something along those lines. Grant Darwin NT |

with the exception that the SSP is reporting the "database server is not available". Interesting ... And the primary, if the SSP was to be believed ... |

Usually, the replica affects the task pages for each volunteer; while the SSP pulls some of its info, in practice it should leave the # of Task available/task creation rate Bo's static instead of... Missing, which seems to be the current case. EDIT: And just saw the post about the primary being presumably offline. Can that happen without bringing the whole thing down? |

The Beta SSP is still showing roughly everything I'd expect to see. EDIT: Except it's stuck at "3 Nov 2016, 3:20:18 UTC". |

... And just saw the post about the primary being presumably offline. I wouldn't have thought that was possible, but the SSP sure doesn't seem to know where it is ... |

Information blackout, as usual. Considering this is the official Seti@home site, it would be the appropriate place to post such news; or for someone to post a copy of such news or a link to it if those in the know can't post here for many & varied reasons. Grant Darwin NT |

Here's a link to the post Agreed, but that was also yesterday. Clearly Jeff's fixes yesterday, as referenced in your link, did not totally resolve the issue, or perhaps another similar issue surfaced. |

Carolyne is obviously not a "happy server" just now :-( The trouble is we don't know what damage was caused by the kernal crash, so all we can do is watch and wait :-( Not a lot will happen until the folks in Berkeley wake up and consume the first part of their daily dose of caffeine (and get some clothes on, we don't want them being nabbed for streaking on the way to work, do we) Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |
