I was having some issues with my computer, so I wiped my drives and started fresh with my "virgin" backup image.

I reinstalled Boinc, connected with my account, and set everything in "computing preferences" back to the way I had them before.

As the title says, I have one running off my CP (1 of 4 cores I believe is how it works), and 1 running GPU with 13 waiting to run. Now, before I had 4 running off the CP, and 1 running off of GPU.

This go around I wanted to ONLY let the CP run and leave my GPU free, so I have "Activity/Suspend GPU" set. I then selected all the GPU work and aborted them. After I aborted them, I keep getting more work for the GPU and nothing new to run off my CP.

How exactly can I get back to where I was before running 4 off my CP and get away from running anything on GPU?

I've done this a few times in the past without having a GPU, and I usually start to get more work for my CP as time goes on, but I wasn't sure since I now have a GPU. I read a ways back that GPU computing was still in its testing stage, but I cant remember when I read that.

Go to your account.

On Preferences for this project click "SETI@Home Preferences"

Assuming you are uising the "default" one, click on "edit preferences"

The un tick the "Use GPU" of whichever type you are using, as you have your computers hidden I cannot tell.

Then click "update preferences" and the next time the machine contacts SETI@Home the new preference will come into force.

Just as an aside most people crunch much more on GPU's some do not even use the CPU for crunching, it is well out of the "testing stage and a decent GPU will return more work at a faster rate than most CPU's

Great!

I just installed my GPU a few months ago, so I've been without one for years.

Ive been running some GPU intensive things lately while running Boinc in the background, so having my GPU free is helpful.

Thanks so much for the help, Bernie!
