Temporary? This trend has being going on since the 90's. Hehe:) But seriously I find it very scary that two world wars has not tought us that those far-right-wing movements are dangerous to all of us. @ Clyde. Check out Poland. Both you and I have some connection to Poland. |

Why haven't we learned the lesson of BOTH the Left and Right? Because you call them left and right not totalitarians. |

Why haven't we learned the lesson of BOTH the Left and Right? Or at least authoritarians. |

Why haven't we learned the lesson of BOTH the Left and Right? The horseshoe theory in political science asserts that rather than the far left and the far right being at opposite and opposing ends of a linear political continuum, they in fact closely resemble one another, much like the ends of a horseshoe:) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horseshoe_theory A final 'Life Lesson from Onslow' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62yTg68sUQc |

Why haven't we learned the lesson of BOTH the Left and Right? Well, the political spectrum actually runs from totalitarian to anarchy. The left and right being totalitarian don't want people to realize there is a choice, because they would choose it. |

Why haven't we learned the lesson of BOTH the Left and Right? Hang on. Most of the world countries have voting systems where the public can vote representatives to rule the country. Rex Publica. Do you have any examples of countries that vote for either totalitarian or anarchy regims? |

Why haven't we learned the lesson of BOTH the Left and Right? You forgot North Korea:) 99.9% of the voters turn up on voting day to elect Kim Jong-un. |

You forgot North Korea:) Totally free elections in the DPRK. Everyone loves Kim. He gets 100% of the votes cast. BTW Clyde, is Kim right or left? If he is left then there must be great social freedom in DPRK and little economic freedom. If he is right there must be great economic freedom in DPRK and little social freedom. Otherwise he must be a center. |

Weeell, it's taken a bit over a year for most to admit but now even the Beeb knows it's kosher to do so: "Instead, debt relief will be phased in from 2018, after Germany's general election late next year. Berlin is one of the main opponents to forgiving part of Greece's debt. As such, the deal was being seen by many as a compromise intended to buy time." http://www.bbc.com/news/business-36558406 |

Well, the large company that owns my "local" supermarket just went bankrupt. Been around since 1962 apparently. They used to have ties with Carrefour (and a while back, to a much lesser degree with Marks & Spencer). Pretty sure the company also brought over and run all the Starbucks in the country. On another note: Happy Birthday Capital Controls! 1 Year anniversary Can't send 10 bucks to SETI with a pre-paid MasterCard FFS. And if Seti had PayPal, I wouldn't be able to use that either. |

Well that's new. Because last Summer or so I had to email Uli and ask for her PP... instead she told me she'd contact me when she gets to London and then I would wire the money to Chris S (via PP) for him to give to her. Of course, by that time, we all forgot :) Good news, Seti now has PP :) Bad news... still useless to someone with a Greek bank account :( |

Bad news... still useless to someone with a Greek bank account :( Have to open an account in Liechtenstein! Then you can send and receive cash from anywhere and no tax man knows anything. |

A lot more austerity being administered to Greece right now and all through 2016, meaning Greece is still nowhere near hitting bottom. Things are getting worse here by the day. But who cares, right? Stupid German politicians, with their stupid fixation on being the control freaks of a whole continent, and a stupid little CDU somehow rationalizing that a stupid little party no-one cares about and it's stupid little upcoming elections are reason enough to grind Europe down. But of course that's what narcissists & psychopaths do. Make themselves the center of the universe, demand your attention, create high stress scenarios to get said attention, all while being completely unable to even GLIMPSE into the future and how it might play out. Elections uber alles. Fantastic plan. At least the EU is super-efficient when there aren't any elections on the horizon. /s THESE Germans are crazy. Meanwhile in Greece: Unemployment still over 24% Youth unemployment still around 50% So I guess The Great Depression was for pu**ies. Europe still pretending it's not a jackboot on the throat but "reforms". Awesome. Even Steve Jobs would be envious of a Reality Distortion Field of this magnitude. :( ----- IMF Predicts Unemployment In Greece Will Fall To 12 Percent.... By 2040 http://www.forbes.com/sites/francescoppola/2016/05/23/imf-predicts-unemployment-in-greece-will-fall-to-12-percent-by-2040/ "So even if the Greek economy returns to growth and its creditors agree to debt relief, it will take 44 years to reduce Greek unemployment to something approaching normal. For Greece’s young people currently out of work, that is all of their working life. A whole generation will have been consigned to the scrapheap." |

Youth unemployment still around 50% Thats very scary. Here it's "only" 25%. That's the generation that will have to support the eldery generations in a near future. Or will they? |

That's the generation that will have to support the eldery generations in a near future. They will... but from their own pockets and from OUTSIDE the country ;) What's really a shame is that Greek kids probably have the same level of education (and number of educated people) as Sweden & Finland. Problem is, last time I checked, they were leaving in the hundreds of thousands. (Or so it was claimed) |
