Weather hampers rescue
Hard to work out exactly what happened, but it seems that the tarpaulin sides of the Carlsberg wagons weren't enough to stop the wind blowing a beer crate into the path of the passenger train. Six lives is a high price to pay for a New Year's gift.

Wow.

Maggie "Hi Dad, I did my 1st solo today.
Dad "How did it go?"
Maggie "Okay, only had a small problem, my right wheel fell off on take-off

ATC & instructors - Great job folks.

Her 1st few words - "okay" "alright" If they don't grab you, you have no empathy.

Wow.

Agreed.
Interesting to see in some of the comments by Pilots with 10,000+ of flight time that they doubted they'd have done as well if that had happened to them on their first solo.

The student pilot did a brilliant job of keeping calm, as did the ATC & Instructors that helped her land safely.

14-year-old driver charged with murder after crash kills woman
"He's just 14 years old but he took my entire life away from me," the victim's daughter told KHOU 11 News.

Harris County Sheriff’s deputies said three teens were in a gold-colored GMC Arcadia throwing eggs at other vehicles.

We've never seen this before. It's becoming more common to see containers falling in the water but never before on this scale,

Nature says: Careful folks"

The Panama-registered ship is described as the biggest in Europe, with a potential cargo of 19,000 containers.

This Texas-sized pothole is big enough to swallow a Lexus, and nearly did

FORT WORTH - A giant sinkhole opened up on West Seventh Street Thursday, nearly swallowing a Lexus during a rainy morning rush hour.

Every driver/rider training course I've been to the instructors always harp on about how every crash is avoidable.

But other than not getting up in the morning, how are you supposed to avoid something like this?

Based on the article they "don't know why it happened... "

My guess based on the article is it was not properly secured to the gantry after recently being installed.

Send an inspection crew ahead to verify the roadway conditions.

Only thing I am sure isn't avoidable is the result of earthquake damage and being on the roadway when it happens.

It's just your typical Aussie roadtrain, but they do come bigger. ;-)

Cheers.

I wonder if there's an award for that trick.

Let us hope this challenge GOES AWAY FAST!
Maybe it should be renamed the "Bird Brain challenge?"

Driving blindfolded for the ‘Bird Box challenge?’ Just don’t, officials say.
A teenager from Utah decided to cover her eyes and drive a pickup truck — the latest, police say, in yet another online craze that seems to inspire reckless behavior.

The 17-year-old girl, whom police did not name, crashed into another car. “Predictable result,” the Layton Police Department, located just north of Salt Lake City, wrote in a tweet.

Can they charge her with DWI?
Wichita Falls PD: Woman riding cart drinking wine from Pringles can barred from Walmart

Wichita Falls (Texas) police received a rather unique call Friday morning involving a woman drinking wine in a Walmart parking lot.

Employees requested officers to ban a woman from the local Walmart store after she reportedly had been drinking wine from a Pringles can for several hours while riding on an electric cart
