American politician brags about speeding to cop after being pulled over.

Arizona State Representative Paul Mosley was stopped for going 97mph (156kph) in a 55mph zone on March 27, according to local radio station KLPZ. Police camera footage, first shared by KLPZ on their website ParkerLiveOnline, shows the officer telling the Republican Party representative that he should watch his speed.
Then Mr Mosley cuts him off, bragging that he "was doing 120 earlier" and would regularly travel at 130mph (209kph) to 140mph (225kph) on his way home.

I struggle to wrap my mind around the fact that some people actually believe that their driving at twice (or more) the posted speed limit is acceptable behaviour, yet I have no doubt that they would be calling for long term imprisonment, or even for the offender's head on a pike, if some nobody was to do the same thing.
Incredible.

Oh boy. Our firetrucks are not intended for joyrides.
And this is one that we made. At least they had good taste.

Driver crashes $500,000 McLaren 720S one day after taking delivery.

A driver in the United States has thrown away what would be many people’s dream ride — a McLaren 720S supercar.

The Virginia man was out playing with his new toy — which costs more than $500,000 in Australia — when he lost control and hit a tree. The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries but the car was a write-off according to Fairfax County Police.

The kicker is the motorist had only taken delivery of his exotic supercar the previous day — that is a quick way to lose a cool half-million.

Nice result
I've worked with some right muppets behind the wheel & many times often wondered how they managed to obtain their licenses considering what they classed as fun on the road.

Major explosion on Italian motorway sends fireball into the air.

AN explosion on an Italian overpass claimed at least two lives and injured dozens of others after a tanker exploded and caused part of the road to collapse.

The deadly accident occurred near Borgo Paginale, to the west of Bologna.

Footage from the scene in the northern city showed a huge fireball shooting into the sky. Plumes of black smoke could be seen from many kilometres away.

Terrorism fears were quickly dismissed by local police, who said the cause of the blast was a tanker that exploding after a collision. The tanker was believed to be carrying liquefied petroleum gas.

I saw that article on the ABC's page.
They have the traffic cam footage showing the tanker driving in to the back of stopped traffic & the truck it hits (or the one in front of it) going up in flames. Then several minutes later, the tanker itself exploding.

Too many trucks on Italian roads. 90% of the goods being carried by trucks,10% by rail. Yet people are against a tunnel being bored in Val di Susa on the Lion-Torino railway the so called TAV, Treno Alta Velocita'.. No TAV,they say, and no VAX against vaccination of babies, which is compulsory by law. People use the Web to spread idiocy.

Another "Public Relations" issue for the Airline Industry!
Musician Removed From American Airlines Flight After Buying Extra Seat For Cello
A Chicago musician traveling with her cello was removed from an American Airlines flight in Miami as she tried to return home.

In a post on Facebook that has been shared more than 1,600 times, (He) posted about his wife’s experience with American Airlines:

“So my wife a DePaul University School of Music student, is scheduled to fly back to Chicago on American Airlines flight 2457 from Miami today She is traveling with her cello in a hard case as a cabin baggage. I purchased two round trip tickets for her and her cello on [April 2] on the phone directly from AA and told them specifically that one ticket is for the cello as cabin baggage. I was told it is [absolutely] allowed and she won’t have any problem.”

... She said a flight attendant approached her before the airplane doors closed and told her she would have to leave the plane, as the aircraft was too small for the cello.

...American Airlines released a statement blaming the incident on a “miscommunication.”

Well she won't in Canada because they treat dui as a felony and convicted felons are barred entry.

Woman arrested twice for DUI on the same day by the same trooper, police say

ROSEDALE, Md. - A Maryland woman was arrested for drunken driving twice on the same day, according to authorities.

Maryland State Police said a trooper first pulled over 33-year-old Stephanie Ringgold in her Dodge Charger just past midnight Saturday on Pulaski Highway (Route 40) at Berk Avenue in Rosedale. Officials said the Baltimore City woman was seen speeding and using the shoulder to pass a vehicle.

... However, less than 20 minutes later, the same trooper on patrol saw Ringgold come back to her car and drive away after she was told she was not allowed to drive for another 12 hours. Police said the trooper ended up pulling over Ringgold again and arresting her for a second time.

She was transported back to the police station where she was processed and released again to a sober driver.
