Russia seen through a dash cam is often a breathtaking journey with life at stake. By joining clips from cameras that the drivers have inside the windscreen, the film maker Dimitrij Kalasjnikov creates a crazy portrait of Russia. The situations that arise are bitish comic but the danger is constantly present and the drama is great. Everything can happen on the roads. The situations that arise are bitish comic but the danger is constantly present and the drama is great. Everything can happen on the roads. That looks good. I have seen just a few of those clips before, but not many of them. The full length version should be fun to watch. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I just saw the movie thanks to our public service SVT. One can say that they only show the "light" version of Russian traffic. For instance don't get surprised if a tank crush your car. Or a tank insisting of passing a truck. Or meeting fighter jets on the street taking off right in front of you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyDi8kI9gp0 |

I've spent way too much time watching Russian dash cam footage. Makes you wonder how anyone gets where they're going without being involved in an accident. Grant Darwin NT |

Developing news.............. Aviation Safety Net Altitude profile (in feet) of Saratov Airlines #6W703 accident, based on ADS-B data from @flightradar24 Altitude in Feet Time stamps every 4 seconds. I'll be very interested in the results of this investigation. Grant Darwin NT |

Developing news.............. Looking at https://twitter.com/hashtag/6W703?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw which includes airspeed, I'm very curious about this. Something just looks wrong for a trained flight crew to not report some kind of issue. I'd be very inclined to look at crew factors. Also where it looks like they were assigned 6000 but overshot it and had to descend back to it. I hope I'm wrong and vodka isn't the cause. Perhaps they flew into a micro-burst, but that is about the only other thing I can think of to cause those airspeed excursions. |

I'd be very inclined to look at crew factors. Also where it looks like they were assigned 6000 but overshot it and had to descend back to it. Both Pilot Flying & Pilot Monitoring? Unlikely. But for those large changes in airspeed, no communications of issues, then to (effectively) fall out of the sky? Fire, explosion? With the APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) and RAT (Ram Air Turbine) complete power & hydraulic failure just shouldn't occur. Even with loss of power from both engines the aircraft is capable of Gliding (to a certain extent). This one fell out of the sky. It could be a low altitude stall, similar to Air France Flight 447 (a high altitude stall). Icing conditions resulting in airspeed measurement inconsistencies, resulting in autopilot disconnect and incorrect response from the flight crew due most likely due to input overload. As said, I will be very interested in the result of this investigation. Grant Darwin NT |

It seems that many that witnessed it are reported to have said that it, "just exploded and came down it pieces", but that just from tele news reports so far here today. Cheers. |

Which would indicate clear skies, but weather was reported to be light snow. Grant has me thinking, did they forget to turn on the pitot heat, or it failed, and chase bad readings until they stalled it? |

It seems that many that witnessed it are reported to have said that it, "just exploded and came down it pieces", but that just from tele news reports so far here today. "It has been found out that at the time the aircraft fell it was intact, there was no fire, the explosion took place after the crash," Russian Investigative Committee spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko told reporters commenting on the possible reasons behind the crash. The moment of the crash captured by a CCTV camera. On the video you can see a flash, a fireball flying across the sky and a cloud of fire and smoke rising on the crash site. https://www.rbc.ru/society/12/02/2018/5a8164b79a79472862e7ded9?from=main Top 5 Versions of An-148 Crash in Moscow Region https://sputniknews.com/russia/201802121061576069-versions-plane-crash-moscow/ |

Grant has me thinking, did they forget to turn on the pitot heat, or it failed, and chase bad readings until they stalled it? I've seen a news reports claiming the FDR (Flight Data Recorder) shows that the Pitot heaters weren't turned on, and claims there was no de-icing done prior to take off. But I've yet to see anything official. Grant Darwin NT |

This really does beggar belief :-( Too bad the ambulance wasn't for them. Then they might think differently about it. Moron. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |
