As my Mac is pretty much a dedicated SETI machine, I spend most of my online time on my tablet. It's less complicated than most of the desktops I've worked with, but more complicated in some cases, such as grouping and saving files, which you really can't do without a good app. I got the free version of Pocket Drive, then later bought the full version (big spender) and it's my favorite app. It's handy for uploading just one spreadsheet or document to my desktop, or just one or two photos, without needing web access, and without needing to do a full 'synch'. While this is not a unique feature - there are certainly other ways to get this done, I have found that just keeping images and various files, especially .pdf documents (such as financial statements, contracts, etc) is handled easily. What the app provides is the ability to put things in folders, and nest folders. I've not reached a limit on nesting levels, but think if I need more than a 1/2 dozen I must be doing something wrong and likely need a vacation. Anyway, labeling the highest level folder lets me group things together as well as segregate them, and its a handy way to look at a project, finances, or a group of photos, with my own defined structure, without having to buy in to an online service. I hope someone finds this helpful. |
