Glad I don't have your Imodium problem David. Most things don't bother me. Now beef flavor ramen noodles give me trouble. They have a chance seeing the light of day again when I don't want them too.

I used to eat white rice like a warm breakfast food. Cook the rice then add milk and sugar. I haven't done that for a long time. Can't now because of my diabetes. Rice is a thing I shouldn't eat.

David, when kids have GI issues, pediatricians sometime recommend a short course of the "BRAT" diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast). Perhaps it will help you?

David, while drugs will clamp the exit, you likely need probiotics to get the fauna back into health. (If you are having lots of gas with it, 9 of 10 it is a fauna issue) Something with several different good bacteria. However it may be so irritated by now ...

If you want to try diet, IIRC the usual recommendation was nothing but clear liquids for 24-48 hours so the system is clear of all solid matter and has a chance to rest and reset. Then small amounts of soft bland low fat easy to digest items slowly over the course of a couple days taking in larger amounts and less bland things trying not to overdo until the gut has fully reset. If you push it too fast, you have to start over.

IIRC you have posted a bit about such issues in the past, you might want to see a Dr. to see if you have an allergy that is causing irritation and setting things off. If you know that is it then you can avoid it.

Sprite or 7 Up?

I've always been more of a Sprite fan. Having some, right now, in fact. :~)

7 Up was what was around when I was a kid. But I find it a bit heavy today.

Seems like 7 Up was flatter than Sprite. Sprite is very spritely.

Here we had Merry that taste the same as Sprite and 7 Up.

To speed up sales, a game of crazy competition campaigns was run. One would collect capsules and could, for example, win a living elephant, a new and pink-colored Rolls Royce or a trip to Beirut. In order to win the Rolls, you had to collect a total of 849 999 capsules. However, an individual managed to win the elephant! But he exchanged it for cash and the elephant ended up at Eskilstuna Zoo.

Can you translate the text on that ad for us? Google translate gives me some weird results.

Hmm.
Google Translate doesn't work with text in images.
Anyway. Merry started already in the 60's with ads mostly in comic books and I remember the capsule drive:)
Later in the early 80's they revamped their ads to appeal to the more older consumers.
The ad translated.
Color, speed, breeze. And Merry.
The classic soda in the cool bottle.
Pure, fresh, refreshing.
Available both in Merry Original and the new Merry Orange.
Merry - with a fullgrown taste

They also targeted women with this ad from the early 70's I think.

Some say Merry is a male drink?
People (read men) believe that all women like what is sweet and innocent.
Then Merry is a drink for men.
Less sweet. Less carbonated
Just real stuff throughout:
Natural sour lemon and lime.
A full grown drink, Merry.
A drink for our time with easier living habits.
Good just as it is. But also an excellent mixer.
Real men do not think of course that women are interested of that matter either.
Live the equality.

I got two boxes of Thin Mints, and one of Samoas. Let's see how long they last me. ;~)

Something basic:

Bread and butter pudding.

    Buttered Bread. (Margarine if Vegan)
Sprinkles of sugar and sultanas in between slices.
Milk & Eggs (Soy Milk & Cornflour if Vegan)
A pinch of Nutmeg and sugar on top.

Bake for 30 mins or so till brown on top and firm within.

(Serve with cold or warm custard or some single cream.)

If that doesn't satisfy then perhaps a massage of butter, sprinkles and nutmeg might excite your guests?

It's very cold in Europe now.
Airports are closed, motorists are stranded and trains are delayed.
So here is one cure to warm you up.
Russian Solyanka
"You can give a Professional Gopnik a pot of solyanka and you feed him for half day. You teach a Professional Gopnik how to make sloyanka and you feed him until end of month comes."

Sprite. It seems to have more flavor than 7 Up.

Question? Which do you like: Peach Nehi or Crush Peach?

For my tastes it is Crush Peach soda. It is like the difference between beer and champagne.

I've never tried a Nehi, and I've never had a peach soda of any kind. Never even seen one. Is the Crush Peach made by the same company as Orange Crush? I always liked that.
