A note
I've had a suggestion by PM - if you want to suggest something do so in public, all PMs associated with this game are deleted and will not be considered or commented on.

It's a trapeze installer - which explains all that banging on about tension. It not only launches the necessary cables, but it tightens them up so that they're at the correct length and tension for swinging on.... oh... oh. I know what it is now! :)

It's a high wire act installer and tautener... like the ones used to waddle on across Niagara Falls.

Betreger - no
Gary - maybe (I know where their HQ is, only about a thousand miles from where I sit, not five thousand...)

I believe that is only a sales office in Suffolk, the manufacturing plant is in Mankato, Minnesota, at least that is what their website says.

Between Annie and the Admiral we have all the right words, but neither has joined the dots.

(And Gary, its only 100 miles from where I sit to Suffolk)

Well done Sir.
I thought Annie might (just) get there first.
It is indeed a (Tesmec) high voltage cable stringing & tensioning machine.
Tesmec are an Italian company, and have a joint operation in the US with Condux, based in Mankato, MN.
In the UK we have to contact their HQ in Italy for support and service.

Yes, well those would have been my exact next words if I hadn't been considering its rather pleasing possibilities as a tripwire installer.

congrats Admiral :) and thank you for a most interesting machine, Rob :)

Not exactly, as you were so close. You certainly won the "Most original not quite right" award with the automatic washing line idea.

The image needs to be hosted at some place like imgur as SETI does not allow attachments.

Then you will use the [ img ]image url[ / img ]

Without the spaces of course.
