Ok, let's go up in scale. Here is tool that I am sure one or two of you have used, but most will never have seen one. What is this tool used for? |

It is called an anchor windlass. I tried to use picture that hid the chain but you got it anyway. Here is one in use. PM Sent[/img] |

I'm a great believer in putting tools to use for purposes other than what they were designed for *open phone bill with garden shears and ... wave them vaguely around* improving and improvising as I go is in fact *frank, steady gaze at retreating setizens* ... what I do best. Although... *peer at thread offerings with mounting admiration* it looks like I have some very stiff competition here For hair dressing? *try to avoid contemplating Ian's beard* when you say woolly, you mean, sort of like a way to straighten things out a bit? *angle head off-centre* Well I don't think you should. I like... wildness and a quick iron would be faster. So no. Sorority Initiation Ritual Paddle? What a shame you didn't suggest that a few decades ago, John. *sad blink* Specifically to Oxford University. Think what it would have spared us... As you didn't *accusing glare* it's not. Food preparation? Tame it before you cook it, then mash it when you have *elevate impressed eyebrows* Food for the toothless maybe. I like your style, Bill. I really do, but no. Musical instrument? You mean of the “turn off that ghastly racket†kind? No. Definitely not, would have got you into sooooooooooooo much trouble if you had, Admiral, assuming you needed them of course... looks like something that's being used in a fetish dungeon o.0 Really? *page through catalogue* I must have missed it. Unless... *reach for the bris one...* Slapstick Like this? What an excellent suggestion, Carlos. I might get one... for my nose. Would make for a somewhat unignorable peg don't you think? Might even make it safe for me to pop into the politics thread again. Haven't been there for so long... *wistful sigh* it's the insults I miss... I think that's why I'm so rude to everyone here :) So whilst I could say yes to everything that has so far been suggested... I'm not going to. Admiral is stumbling about in the vaguely the right direction, as is Carlos - but they are nothing to do with entertainment in any way, and as far as I know, they are no longer used... *slide glance towards Zombu* erm... for what they were intended anyway :) edit: which is good. |
