I`d also suggest to run just 4 tasks on CPU. Seti home uses the FPU very much and since 2 cores have to share one FPU it is faster to utilize the CPU only at 50%. Your over all output will increase. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

i can push my 8370 to 5.2 stable at 1.55v ,my only limitation is heat with my m5a99x ..so the crosshairs is better with heat ..im really considering building a custom loop watercooler for my cpu and 290x's just for fun |

I probably could have responded earlier but we blew a transformer here at work so that was fun. Crossfire doesn't interfere with the project but I've found that it slightly reduces performance so I turn it off. I've tried almost every driver for the last year and if you're just running one WU per GPU then they pretty much all work fine. I just got through testing 15.8 beta that came out last week and I got triplet errors when running two WU per GPU. And no, I don't have any kids that I know of. I'm trying 14.9 right now but I expect it to work fine. I tested 14.4 for a week with no problems. I'm guessing 14.12 and later all have issues. If you insist on using Windows 10, see if you can keep the OS from automatically installing 15.x drivers if you want to run 14.9 with multiple WU per GPU. I'm not expecting that Windows 10 would be the most stable environment with last year's drivers so I went back to Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 also has better compatibility with things that I use like Samsung Magician and ASUS AI Suite. Or you can try linux. |

Not sure about win 10 but its worth a try. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

In response to message 1723757 Use 0.43b. Because i have had it numerous times, with stock apps and wus loaded, that when installing lunatics, at least the gpu tasks disappeared (became ghosts) and i had to download new ones. |

The information I'm giving is only as it applies to Hawaii GPU only. I just generated some fresh new invalids with 14.9. I can try 14.12, I'm not beyond trashing work units. I think the only driver I'm having luck with is 14.4. |

If you think you've found a bug, please report it - here will do. Let's try and unpick that, so we can improve Lunatics for next time. Which type of GPU - NV, ATI or intel? Which version of Lunatics have you installed "numerous times"? Over what sort of timescale have these problems occurred? Any specific dates you can remember would help to narrow it down. |

If you think you've found a bug, please report it - here will do. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=6850463 This is the host i installed ver 0.43b 64-bit. The error tasks are ghosts, that were produced when i installed lunatics. I do not recall the dates, but it must have been at least 3 or 4 times in the past year on two different computers. |

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=6850463 This should not happen - the installer have the necessary 'code' to deal with AstroPulse v7 v7.10 (opencl_nvidia_cc1) Inside Lunatics_Win32_v0.43b_setup.exe (open by 7-Zip) there is file AP7_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_NV.aistub and it have section: <app_version> <app_name>astropulse_v7</app_name> <version_num>710</version_num> <avg_ncpus>0.04</avg_ncpus> <max_ncpus>0.2</max_ncpus> <plan_class>opencl_nvidia_cc1</plan_class> <cmdline></cmdline> <coproc> <type>CUDA</type> <count>1</count> </coproc> ... To check what BOINC logged about those tasks (to see were they ever been on-board) - in files stdoutdae.txt and stdoutdae.old - find the following strings: ap_01jn12ab_B1_P1_00178_20150813_13797.wu ap_02my15ab_B2_P1_00313_20150814_05120.wu ap_06my15aa_B4_P1_00002_20150811_30134.wu - that way you will see when/if they were Downloaded and when/if they were Deleted  - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :)  |

In response to message 1723757 Normally this would only happen if you selected the wrong apps or if you made a mistake editing the app_info.xml. ;-) Cheers. |

I do not recall the dates, but it must have been at least 3 or 4 times in the past year on two different computers. Lunatics v0.43b for Windows was released to the public less than two months ago, on 23 July 2015. |

I do not recall the dates, but it must have been at least 3 or 4 times in the past year on two different computers. My suspicion is that Rasputin was talking about Astropulse tasks after 23 Apr 2015, 18:50:41 UTC, and MB ATI tasks after 26 Jun 2015, 22:55:12 UTC - both in the gap before 0.43b was released. But I was hoping he would clarify his point before issuing blanket instructions to all and sundry. I honestly don't think there are any current problems with 0.43b, either for stock transfers or upgraders from previous versions. Care does need to be exercised - as I mention whenever we release a new version - if you have added an application intended for Beta testers to an otherwise standard Lunatics installation. |
