Bobby, are you sure the stats are of republicans, or did Pew include RINO's and Tea? It would be interesting to see those breakdowns.

Unfortunately Pew does not have a breakdown for RINOs/Tea.
http://www.pewforum.org/2016/02/03/republicans-prefer-blunt-talk-about-islamic-extremism-democrats-favor-caution/
Though the breakdowns Pew does provide suggest older, white, conservative, and evangelical, not sure how closely that tracks with the RINO/Tea.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

On the TV news here right now (sorry no link yet), a black protester was "coward punched" as he was being escorted away and Dump says that he'll cover the "cowards" costs. :-O

Oh dear..... :-(

Will the Democrat Establishment (Hillary) understand?

Just a polite aside here:
I don't think Americans fully understand yet what
the fallout will be from the "New Mood" now blazing
across the very heart of the nation....
I have stated before that this is an generational
change in America's culture, not just in politics.
Hang on friends!

The problem is that our Democratic Republic has fallen prey, some would say inevitably, to what amounts to bribery by special and personal interests. Transferring our Manufacturing might to overseas, low wage countries has also led to the biggest wealth transfer out of the country since we started importing oil. At the same time we have said it's OK and perfectly correct to live on the dole and not be held accountable for thuggish or criminal behavior.

We need a master strategist, a butt kicker and economic genius to right this ship. I don't see any on the political horizon. --maybe I will start manufacturing lifeboats with illegal immigrant labor.

Another good rant by Daddio

I wonder if the new ads I am seeing regarding "Trump University" will hit home with people who do not yet fully understand that he is a con artist. Trump University was a total scam and several thousand would be students lost up to $35,000 before it was shut down.

Yeah but he has people convinced that he isn't a typical politician, and that is why many support him. And it's all a lie.

That is exactly how con artists ARE successful... convincing people they are not what they really are... just like their very close relatives, the politicians.

Trump is a populist. He tells people what they want to hear. He is poison.

The sad thing is the other 3 or 4 front-runners are poison as well (Cruz, Rubio, Clinton, and Sanders).

There is not a single one of this group that is deserving of any support whatsoever. Those that might have had an ounce of integrity have already withdrawn, or decided not to run to begin with.

The USA is totally boned unless we DO find someone else.

The Democrats (Hillary) better stop calling these people sexist and racist names.

And Republicans better stop insults, sexual innuendo and just plain bizarre antics.
http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-35729921

janne...

You are also correct.

No, you are incorrect. Janne is correct about the Republican candidates, whether you are also correct is unknown as you have yet to provide any sources to validate your assertion, despite being asked for them.

Does this serve as a source for what Clyde is talking about? Even if Clyde is talking about something different, I de think Bernie has had a mis-step.

Sarge...

Disagree.

Bernie is also tapping into a large part of the American people's anger. As Trump is.

Noooooo... They are NOT the same danger.

American politics has changed. With a Billionaire Capitalist and a Socialist, capturing peoples imagination.

The 'Rules' have changed. The Republican Establishment appears to have finally admitted to the 'New Reality'.

Will the Democrat Establishment (Hillary) understand?

To say that whites do not know what is like to be poor, or to live in a generally low income area, is in my opinion a mis-step. To say I don't know what the experience of Blacks is, or poor blacks, is fair. I can only really know my own experience.

I do not believe Trump is tapping into the same mood as Sanders is. As a friend of mine from high school said elsewhere:

I think I get what people mean when they say Trump says what everyone is thinking. They mean he expresses anger we can't express in daily life We can't punch each other for being idiots and he somehow makes it seem like maybe we could and that would somehow be a good thing. But really if we want to go with how stuff makes us wish we could react, bad driving would be grounds for immediate capital punishment, at least in my book. In any case while it's nice to think you could punch someone you think needs it, do you really want to be punched by someone who thinks you need it? Keep in mind I'm pretty critical so I probably have thought you need it.

Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes.

Well, that's what happens when people support progressives.

You're almost there, why stop at progressives? There are charlatans in all parties, indeed, there may be some that fit the bill posting to these boards:

Charlatan
a person who falsely pretends to know or be something in order to deceive people

(source)

Fact-checking and skepticism might help you spot them.

And Drumpf certainly fits the description, with luck my fellow citizens will spot the pretense before it's too late.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

American Angst....It's what's for breakfast.

American politicians have ignored the American public for so long and went on their merry, corrupt way that it has built up to pressure cooker levels, and the lid is about to blow off.

Yes, Trump HAS tapped into that power source, and I truly believe it is strong enough to propel him all the way into the White House.

I know that, as with most politicians, he comes with baggage and pros and cons.

But, to speak Jack Reacheresque to the republican party.....

Have you forgotten this already? Most Repulicans don't think Drumpf a satisfactory choice for their party's candidate, or do you believe that's changed over the past week?

My inference was that by not being able to find a more potent front runner, they made Trump their defacto 'choice'.
