I read about this in the news just the other day, and since I know many of you are animal lovers too, I thought I'd share this story.

http://www.kare11.com/story/news/2015/04/02/dog-thought-to-be-dead-digs-out-of-grave/70829702/

PULLMAN, Wash. - The people who saw a stray dog get hit by a car thought she was dead, so they dug a grave and buried her.

A few days later, imagine their surprise when the badly injured dog reappeared in town.

Theia wasn't exactly a zombie, but she looked like one from her terrible condition.

The 1-year-old pit bull mix had multiple fractures and was severely malnourished.

She was adopted and taken to Washington State University's veterinary school for treatment.

The new owners asked for donations to raise the $9,000 needed for sinus cavity surgery.

They can't believe the outpouring of generosity.

"I think it's awesome how everybody's coming together. And I think it's awesome trying to save a dog that was pretty much abandoned and left for dead," said Ryan Simmons. "And like you can see, she's full of life, and she gets the surgery, she's gonna be a very happy dog."

On Wednesday, the $9,000 goal wasn't only met, but exceeded.

More than $10,000 has been donated, which will cover the costs of surgery, medications and follow-up visits as Theia recovers.

Her surgery is scheduled for April 22.

The Huffington Post covered it here as well.

I saw this story in numerous places. Good for her and her new Human. I hope he considers paying the extra forward, if that is allowed.
Pluto will always be a planet to me.
