No problem get AMD/ATI tasks on 7970's or R9 280x, but for the life of me I can't seem to get any CUDA work on Linux-64 or Win-64 setups? Is it simply they are all taken already or is there some driver thing or other setup thing I've done wrong? BTW, I have only GTX 580's and a couple 560Ti cards, all Fermi... I think most setups running 347.52 Drivers... They work with other projects fine... Thanks! 8-) |

For SETI@home there is no such things as "CUDA work", "CPU work" or any another other type of device task. Tasks are assigned to a device when BOINC requests work from a single pool. That pool is the feeder which loads tasks from the Ready to Send queue. The feeder may at times be empty. Which can happen when work is in short supply as it is now. If your machines were getting GPU work & are now not. It is probably just luck of the draw. If something has changed then it could be an issue to troubleshoot. 10-4... Seems funny it's out of CUDA work and not out of ATI work though... but whatever... Thanks! 8-) |

It seems that you are talking about three machines newly attached to the project today, two of which have not yet been assigned any work at all. Have a look at the Event Log, to verify that your CUDA cards and their drivers have been correctly identified by BOINC, and that they are actually "Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA GPU". If in doubt, post the first 30-40 lines from the event log here - up to and including the first request/reply for work - and we can advise on potential problems. |

10-4... Host 7536445 running Windows 7 with a GTX 580 is currently showing one task assigned to your CUDA GPU using the cuda42 application. This shows it is working correctly on work fetch. It is just a matter of waiting for more work to download. Host 7536346 running Linux also with a GTX 580 is not showing any GPU tasks yet. Last I recall, there were no official Linux GPU apps. To get Linux to crunch on the GPU, I believe you must install a third-party application such as those from the Lunatics. Host 6612869 hasn't contacted the project since March 4th of this year. |

10-4... Well, speaking of the devil, I just got some CUDA tasks on one system, so at least it's working. Sorry, but I think I should have waited longer before bothering y'all with this. Thanks! 8-) |
