Hi, I have read all the messages about "no work" and thus knew to be patient after installing boinc when I got the same messages. But restarting boinc today I don't even get "no work" messages. It seems the client doesn't even try to get work although getting contact to seti. After some time I used "update" and as the log shows the update request was sent and honored but nothing about work!? I have not changed my prefs and don't know what is going wrong. --- - 2004-07-02 14:35:29 - Starting BOINC client version 3.19 for windows_intelx86 SETI@home - 2004-07-02 14:35:29 - Project prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults SETI@home - 2004-07-02 14:35:29 - Host ID is [Number deleted] --- - 2004-07-02 14:35:29 - General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 2004-07-01 11:13:06) --- - 2004-07-02 14:35:29 - General prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults SETI@home - 2004-07-02 14:54:36 - Sending request to scheduler: http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi SETI@home - 2004-07-02 14:54:56 - Scheduler RPC to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded SETI@home - 2004-07-02 14:54:56 - Project prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults Meanwhile I have attached to predictor where everything is working now (got work, work is being crunched etc.). When attaching to predictor I gave predictor a score of 10 whereas seti has 90; nothing changed regarding seti... Any ideas what is going wrong? Bye Peter |

Those are normal server messages from S@H. Since you favored your resource share towards S@H, you should get work when it becomes available. :) |

Hi, hmmm... it was quite clear the messages appearing to be normal. But what about the messages missing? Yesterday I got repeated "deferring communication" and "no work available" which are normal messages as well but are now missing. Today there is no sign of the client even requesting work (getting work is another topic). The messages posted are the only ones the client shows... Bye Peter |
