The Taliban movement in Pakistan has become more radical and violent during the current leader Mullah Fazlullah. It was he who ordered the attack on schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai this year's Nobel Peace Price laureate.

And they start by killing schoolchildren:(
- The attack is primarily directed against the military and revenge for the army offensive that has just carried out against Taliban strongholds in North Waziristan in northwest Pakistan. The school in Peshawar is run by the military to provide the families of personnel edjucation.

When one sleeps with the enemy, one has to be prepared to one day, wake up dead.

The Pakistani Government & their security service did not know where Osama Bin Laden was?

GUNS defeat them, and it will be Ugly.

Well it would be a first in military history where superior firepower won from a guerrilla style insurgency. And yes, this has often been tried.

Well, Turkish or Roman military leaders
may have a disagreement with that sentiment.

ONLY Won, through out History, when waged as A WAR.

Philippine Insurrection 1905-1907, and 1946 to 1949.

When Mass Innocent Civilian Casualties are permitted, as in other Guerrilla Campaigns: Then they lose.

Seems to me that you kind of lose the war when you have to resort to genocide to win from what is essentially a group of peasants with guns. In that case you technically 'win' the war but you have to give up any decency and you were forced to butcher thousands to get only a few.

And while it might have worked in the past, I'm pretty sure that in today's world that stuff is no longer acceptable. A government butchering its own people is a government that is gonna make enemies out of their own people. So it might actually strengthen the Taliban in the region.

No, superior firepower is not going to win this.

If 100% are dead, it is over. Of course there are no civilians left either.

Otherwise you are playing whack a mole and they are breeding faster than you can whack.

Confirms my belief that the terrorists at guantanamo were too well treated.

This is really to much!
At least 141 people died in the attack in the school in Peshawar, Pakistan, 132 of them were children.
