Trump withdraws from Paris climate agreement.

Sigh...........
Tonight, President Donald Trump left the dreaded message: the United States withdraws from the Paris agreement. The country will thus be the first to leave the 2015 comprehensive climate agreement, of the 195 countries that wrote it.
- Though I care a lot about the environment, I can not approve an agreement that punishes the United States.

What does Trump from Karlstad mean by being punished!
It's we other 194 countries that will be punished by Trump!
Thank you very much says we other 194 countries on our planet!

USA First policy turns out to be USA Alone policy!

Carl Bildt@carlbildt former PM and FM of Sweden
President Trump triumphantly announced that he was elected by Pittsburgh rather than Paris. Well, actually, he lost in Pittsburgh.
President Trump promises to open up new coal mines in the US. There was a time when US saw the future in silicon rather than in coal.
Will comment America withdrawing from global climate accord in @cnni in a while. America First policy turns out to be America Alone policy.
US VP Pence says “America is back” in the world. To me it looks more like “America is gone”. Withdrawing instead of leading.

Climate experts, governments and organizations in several countries have warned for far-reaching consequences if the US decides to leave.
"The United States is the world's second largest country of emissions (after China) and when such a country leaves such an important deal, it gives very serious signals"

Trump withdraws from Paris climate agreement.

How long before the retaliatory trade measures go in place?

"The United States will open negotiations to re-enter either the Paris Agreement or a completely different transaction, under conditions that are fair for the United States, its company, its workers, its people and its taxpayers," said Trump in the statement.
US taxpayers?
We 194 other countries don't give a s**t about them.
Why should we?
Different countries, different tax regulations.
In the end it will be us 194 countries paying for US's welfare.
Why should we?
We have problem on our own.
Get it Trump?

It's no fun anymore Trump!

Just one reaction against the expanding Influence of Globalism and International Capitalism.

Perhaps Trump and his followers should go to Mars!
Probably MUCH cheaper!

Sorry, even though I dislike Trump as much or more than the rest of you, I must say that in THIS case, he was correct in leaving the Paris Accord.

While Syria and Nicaragua did not sign the accord, it was for 2 different reasons.

1. Syria was NOT invited.

2. Nicaragua did not sign because the Paris Accord did NOT do enough -- specifically, it was that the ghg-reductions from each nation were just pledges/promises and NOT firm commitments -- also there is no enforcement mechanism beyond 'shame on you'. Also there is insufficient ghg-reductions to hold the temperature rise to less-than-or-equal-to 2 °C by 2100. It will be around a 3 °C rise instead per the UNEP.
https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2016/nov/03/world-on-track-for-3c-of-warming-under-current-global-climate-pledges-warns-un
https://europa.eu/capacity4dev/unep/document/emissions-gap-report-2016-unep-synthesis-report

Remember, under Paris agreement we will have about a 3 °C warming by 2100. To hold that to a 2 °C warming we will need a rather large amount of additional reductions, something on the order of an additional 14 GtCO2e of reductions in yearly emissions OVER AND ABOVE the Paris agreement emissions reduction levels.

Sorry, Paris agreement does not go far enough in its emissions cuts and it has NO teeth. Trump was CORRECT in pulling out. We need another one that WILL address the issue properly. Also it must NOT give any nation a free-pass exemption from any of the provisions... at all... ever.

Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016.

Except he is screaming mine that coal baby mine that coal. Drill baby drill that oil. Burn baby burn that CO2 belching fossil fuel.

If he were serious about reductions, he would be denying that climate change even exists and calling it fake.

Unless you think Pence is going to do more and are sure of a change in power. Otherwise it just got vastly harder to have any reduction at all.

tRump the future baby killer!

Then again maybe the rest of the countries will impose a carbon cap and trade tax on the USA and we will be the only country forced to completely meet the goals or pay through the nose.

I think your reasoning is wrong.
You maybe right in that the Paris agreement doesn't go far enough, BUT that is not Trumps reason for withdrawing.

Yes, the reductions by each nation are voluntary, but it was that way because getting all nations to agree specific figures would be an absolute impossibility at this stage. And probably will not be reduced further because the so called leader has pulled out and his declared policies will do nothing to improve the situation.
Yes, the reductions are not enough, but it is recognised this is just one step forward, and that will be further steps before 2100.
And the reason it has no teeth, is probably down to the US more than anything else, the reductions per capita required of the US would never be acceptable by most US citizens.

The reason Trump doesn't want this treaty is because he wants the US to go backwards. Bringing back coal and blue collar jobs and rejecting technology to that period when the USA was Great. (Could you give me a date for that)

If you have read the news you will have seen China and India have cancelled the building of coal fired power stations, because solar is now cheaper.
