Is there a software test for amd gpu's? I am almost afraid to ask because I suspect one of my better one's might be defective. It has a problem with AP's and with multiple wu's. I have two gpu's on the machine in question. I don't know if one or the other might have a problem. I come up with error's on seti and Einstein when I do this. I would rather not go through running seti or Einstein stuff to see where the problem might be. I would rather an independent quick test of a gpu. I do not want to go thru messing up my current crunching with an assortment of seti/Einstein tests.

The best way to test would be to run the AP offline tests, http://lunatics.kwsn.net/index.php?module=Downloads;catd=44 I'm not sure which would be best in your case, maybe someone familiar with the test can give better instructions. There are some instructions in the APbench211_minimal package.

A very helpful test would be to move the suspect card to another machine, you appear to have another machine that can accept the card. This would make sure it's actually the card at fault. Just remember to run the Driver installer after installing the card and see if GPU-Z sees OpenCL on the card afterwards.

Consider FurMark or OCCT. Although both are more aimed at gaming than GPU computing, the stress testing may be helpful.

The Lunatics test scripts are basically set up to run just one task at a time, so might not duplicate whatever is causing problems while running normally. Fred's "SETI Performance" might be more revealing, but I've lost track of the (BilBg ?) extension script which allows testing OpenCL AP, etc. so maybe AMD GPUs.

{edit} GPU Caps Viewer also has some tests which may be useful, at least they are described as using OpenCL so somewhat compute oriented.

Thanks guys for your comments. It helps just getting some kind of feedback from our group.

I'm getting 83-86% utilization on these cards running right now on Einstein. When I run seti it get a little more maybe 84-87%. That is running 1 wu at a time. I think I'll just take my chances that everything is good enough and assume the cards aren't defective.

But again, I say thanks for the feedback. It is much appreciated.
